A two‐phase workflow (OFAT screening followed by central composite design) maps how processing variables tune PFCE‐PLGA nanoparticle size, dispersity, surface charge, loading, and 19F‐MRI signal. In situ, time‐resolved synchrotron SAXS tracks albumin‐corona growth on intact dispersions and reveals PFCE‐dependent adsorption pathways.

Although shadow banking is said to be huge, estimated at over $60 trillion, it is not well defined. This short and accessible paper attempts to define shadow banking by identifying its overall scope and its basic characteristics. Based on the definition derived, the paper also conceptually examines how shadow banking can be regulated to try to maximize

Does bank regulation help customers? [PDF]
The answer, says Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia President Anthony Santomero, is yes, no, and maybe. Yes, the government must absorb some of the risks inherent in the banking system in order to maintain the system's stability.

This study presents the first entirely isogenic heart‐on‐chip, unifying cardiomyocytes, fibroblasts, and endothelial cells from a single iPSC source. The platform reveals a critical biological insight: the endothelium actively shields cardiac tissue from drug‐induced toxicity, challenging the predictive accuracy of conventional, avascular models for ...

Coarse‐grained MD simulations capture the effects of liposome composition and size on protein adsorption onto the liposome surface, in agreement with experiments. Liposome‐protein interactions are energetically stabilized by the replacement of abundant proteins with high‐affinity proteins on the liposome surface through electrostatic and hydrophobic ...

Rapid Fabrication of Self‐Propelled and Steerable Magnetic Microcatheters for Precision Medicine
A rapid Joule heating fabrication method for the production of self‐propelling, adaptive microcatheters, with tunable stiffness and integrated microfluidic channels is presented. Demonstrated through three microrobotic designs, including a steerable guiding catheter, an untethered wave‐crawling TubeBot, and a distal‐end propelled microcatheter, it was ...
