BAP: Not-Quite-Autism in Infants
Journal of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, 2014n this issue of the Journal, Ozonoff et al. describe a study about the broader autism I phenotype (BAP) in infants. The importance of this work cannot be overestimated for both the science of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and for clinical assessment and intervention.

Chemico-Biological Interactions, 1991
Certain finfish species living in chemically polluted environments exhibit a high incidence of gastrointestinal tract tumors. Carnivorous fish in such environments are likely to consume invertebrates which contain chemical procarcinogens and the invertebrate biotransformation products of these compounds.

SPE International Conference on Health, Safety and Environment in Oil and Gas Exploration and Production, 2010
Abstract While most companies are clear on the importance of biodiversity, it appears that only some companies are using Biodiversity Action Plans (BAPs). The flexibility in the use of BAPs, in particular the extent to which they are integrated as part of the environmental impact assessment (EIA) and overall environmental management plan

Assessment of methodologies for airborne BaP analysis
Science of The Total Environment, 2004Very sensitive analytical methods will be required to assess airborne contaminants with the implementation of new EC Directives. In this work, Soxhlet, ultrasonic and microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) were applied to two airborne standard reference materials (SRM) 1648 "Urban Particulate Matter" and SRM 1649a "Urban Dust".

Polymer, 2007
Abstract There is a need for clay modifiers that will not thermally degrade at elevated temperatures commonly used in polymer processing operations such as extrusion and injection molding. In this context, natural montmorillonite clay (Na-MMT) was organically modified by varying concentrations of 4,4′-bis(4″-aminophenoxy)diphenylsulfone (BAPS) using ...

Bap: A New Type of Functional Amyloid
Trends in Microbiology, 2016Bacteria can build a biofilm matrix scaffold from exopolysaccharides or proteins, and DNA. In a recent report, Taglialegna and colleagues show that pathogenic Staphylococcus aureus produces a protein scaffold based on amyloid assembly of fragments from the biofilm-associated protein. Amyloidogenesis occurs in response to environmental signals.
