NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Barcode clonal tracking of tissue-resident immune cells in rhesus macaque highlights distinct clonal distribution pattern of tissue NK cells

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2022
Tissue resident (TR) immune cells play important roles in facilitating tissue homeostasis, coordinating immune responses against infections and tumors, and maintaining immunological memory. While studies have shown these cells are distinct phenotypically

Versatile continuous pH monitoring barcode system based in ionogels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The online monitoring of pH level in different environments like bio-engineering [1] and chemistry [2] is vital for the control and well behaviour of the whole industrial process.

From Pine Cones to Read Clouds: Rescaffolding the Megagenome of Sugar Pine (Pinus lambertiana). [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We investigate the utility and scalability of new read cloud technologies to improve the draft genome assemblies of the colossal, and largely repetitive, genomes of conifers.

Barcodes for genomes and applications [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Bioinformatics, 2008
Abstract Background Each genome has a stable distribution of the combined frequency for each k-mer and its reverse complement measured in sequence fragments as short as 1000 bps across the whole genome, for 1<k<6.

A Theory of Sub-Barcodes

open access: yesCoRR, 2022
From the work of Bauer and Lesnick, it is known that there is no functor from the category of pointwise finite-dimensional persistence modules to the category of barcodes and overlap matchings. In this work, we introduce sub-barcodes and show that there is a functor from the category of factorizations of persistence module homomorphisms to a poset of ...

Near‐Infrared Emitting Lanthanide Catecholate Giant Single Crystals – Morphology Control and Photon Down‐Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled syntheses of lanthanide coordination polymers based on the dihydroxybenzoquinone (DHBQ) organic linker afforded large single crystals of Ln‐DHBQ CPs (Ln = Yb, Nd). A novel structural variant of Yb‐DHBQ is identified by means of single crystal diffraction analysis.

Diverse, Cryptic, and Undescribed: Club and Coral Fungi in a Temperate Australian Forest

open access: yesJournal of Fungi
Fungi are the most poorly described kingdom of Eukarya. Fundamental questions about their species diversity, their distributions, and their biotic interactions remain largely unanswered, despite fungi playing important roles in the ecology and ...

Comparative plastome analysis of Blumea, with implications for genome evolution and phylogeny of Asteroideae

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, 2021
The genus Blumea (Asteroideae, Asteraceae) comprises about 100 species, including herbs, shrubs, and small trees. Previous studies have been unable to resolve taxonomic issues and the phylogeny of the genus Blumea due to the low polymorphism of molecular
