Coleoptile length of barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) cultivars

Genetic Resources and Crop Evolution, 2009
Coleoptile length is related to maximum seeding depth. The coleoptile length of 44 spring barley cultivars (Hordeum vulgare L.) was determined by laying seeds on moistened filter paper and incubating at 15°C for 13 days. Significant differences in coleoptile length were noted between cultivars (P < 0.05).

Complementary competition in cultivated barley (Hordeum vulgare L.)

Euphytica, 1971
Grain yield and its endpoint components were studied for three barley varieties, Dayton, Hudson, and Tenn 60-34, as pure stands and two-way and three-way mixtures at three widely separated sites for two years. The populations, including the pure stands, produced similar grain yields.

Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) Transformation Using Embryogenic Pollen Cultures

2014
The temperate cereal barley is grown as a source of food, feed, and malt. The development of a broad range of genetic resources and associated technologies in this species has helped to establish barley as the prime model for the other Triticeae cereals.

Transgenic Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) and Chromosomal Variation

2002
Tissue culture and transformation technologies have been developed for most crop species, but several hurdles remain for the efficient application of these methods to crop improvement. One impediment is the occurrence of genetic and stable epigenetic changes during tissue culture and transformation (Lemaux et al. 1999).
