Comparative study of the biological activities of the aqueous extracts of two spontaneous plants harvested in the Algerian Sahara [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
The present study investigates the insecticidal and herbicidal effects of leaf extracts from two plants were harvested in the Northern Algerian Sahara. These are Cleome arabica (Capparaceae) and Pergularia tomentosa (Asclepiadaceae). The efficacy of the extracts from the plants was evaluated by the reflux extraction method.

Exogenous application of salicylic acid ameliorates salinity stress in barley (Hordeum vulgare L.)

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology
Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) is a significant cereal crop belonging to Poaceae that is essential for human food and animal feeding. The production of barley grains was around 142.37 million tons in 2017/2018.

Genetic variability in barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2013
Twenty two barley genotypes were evaluated for green fodder yield, grain yield and related morphological characters. Genotypes significantly differed for all the 14 characters indicating sufficient variability in the experimental material. The characters

Barley, an Undervalued Cereal for Poultry Diets: Limitations and Opportunities

open access: yesAnimals, 2022
The supply of conventional cereal grains, especially of maize, will be a significant constraint to the future growth of the poultry industry. Various alternative feed ingredients are being tested to replace maize in poultry diets. Barley (Hordeum vulgare
