Herbicide Metabolic Resistance in Poaceae Plants via the GA‐GID1/DELLA‐DOF2‐P450s Module
Plant hormone signaling modulates herbicide resistance in Echinochloa crus‐galli. The GA–DELLA–DOF2 cascade directly activates P450 detoxification genes in two Poaceae species, uncovering a core mechanism of metabolic herbicide resistance. ABSTRACT Barnyard grass (Echinochloa crus‐galli) is one of the world's most important weeds, and the evolution of ...

Plant Growth Inhibitory Activity of the Extracts of and its Growth Inhibitory Substances
Aqueous methanol extracts of Acmella oleracea inhibited the growth of roots and shoots of cress ( Lepidum sativum ), lettuce ( Lactuca sativa ), Italian ryegrass ( Lolium multiflorum ), and barnyard grass ( Echinochloa crus-galli ) with the extract ...

More than 800 strains were collected from two sources, the one was 59 agricultural experiment stations in Japan proper or abroad, the other 200 villages or towns in Fukuoka prefecture. They were sown in Wagner's pot in the one hand, or transplanted in specially designed lowland field in the other at the Institute of Agronomy, the Kyushu University ...

Foramsulfuron remains effective on Pro‐197 Poa annua, but co‐formulation with thiencarbazone reduces efficacy due to limited activity and antagonism. Therefore, foramsulfuron + thiencarbazone should be used in fields without ALS‐resistant weeds to ensure effective in‐crop control.

Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Nitrogen fertilization is commonly applied to increase crop yields in agroecosystems. Beyond its direct benefits, nitrogen fertilization may also influence crop production indirectly by altering crop–weed competition.

Comparing autumn duck use of intensely managed wetlands in Michigan using a novel approach
Camera traps, a relatively novel method for assessing waterfowl use of wetlands, show ducks in southeastern Michigan are influenced by hunting disturbance, vegetation type, season progression, and diel period. Abstract Socioeconomic value derived from duck hunting has contributed to autumn habitat use becoming a particular focus for the natural ...

Weed management is the major biological constraint in paddy (Oryza sativa L.) producing areas. Predominantly, barnyard grass (Echinochloa crus-galli) is a rice-mimicking weed that causes 57% of yield loss in rice production.
