An investigation of the progression from Barrett's esophagus to adenocarcinoma [PDF]

Does CDX2 expression predict Barrett's metaplasia in oesophageal columnar epithelium without goblet cells? [PDF]
Background: Intestinal metaplasia (Barrett's oesophagus), but not cardiac-type mucosa in columnar-lined oesophagus, is regarded as premalignant. As intestinal metaplasia and cardiac-type mucosa are endoscopically indiscernible, it is difficult to take ...

Patients with isolated LPS demonstrated a lower likelihood of EGJ disruption, pathologic GERD, and abnormal Milan score. The Milan score performed similarly well in the identification of GERD in both LPS and typical symptoms. The Milan score could therefore be used as an upfront test in LPS patients.

ABSTRACT Background & Aims The straight leg raise (SLR) is a provocative maneuver used to assess the esophagogastric junction (EGJ) barrier function during high‐resolution manometry (HRM) and is part of the Milan Score (MS). The Chicago Classification 4.0 (CCv4.0) protocol requires patients to perform a supine‐upright transition (SUT), increasing intra‐

The SLR maneuver is a valuable component of GERD evaluation. By establishing optimal thresholds for both effective EGJ challenge and accurate GERD prediction, we provide another step for standardized implementation in clinical practice. ABSTRACT Background Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) arises from dysfunction of the anti‐reflux barrier.
