Lipid Nanoparticles for the Delivery of CRISPR/Cas9 Machinery to Enable Site‐Specific Integration of CFTR and Mutation‐Agnostic Disease Rescue

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) are optimized to co‐deliver Cas9‐encoding messenger RNA (mRNA), a single guide RNA (sgRNA) targeting the endogenous cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene, and homologous linear double‐stranded donor DNA (ldsDNA) templates encoding CFTR.

From Waste to Value: Conversion of Calcium Sulfate to Vaterite via Carbon Capture and Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a new concept for carbon management that relies on the carbonation of industrial gypsum waste and yields phase‐pure vaterite at ambient conditions without any additives. The obtained vaterite is further shown to be a reactive material that develops compressive strength in aqueous suspensions like conventional cements.

Asymmetric Contact Engineering for Bottleneck‐Free Transport in 2D MoS2 Field‐Effect Transistor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Performance of 2D semiconductor transistors is limited by carrier transport bottlenecks arising from specific device geometries. By identifying this structural limitation, a bottleneck‐free asymmetric transistor architecture (BATA) is introduced to improve carrier transport.

Assessment of barriers to Risk Management (RM) implementation in small construction projects in Nigeria

open access: yesAfrican Journal of Built Environment Research, 2019
Managing project risk in construction is becoming increasingly critical for ensuring that project objectives are met effectively. Due to the innate characteristics of small construction projects, they are prone to more risks as they face more challenges than the large ones.
