The E3 ubiquitin ligase, RNF219, suppresses CNOT6L expression to exhibit antiproliferative activity
We identified RNF219 as a CCR4‐NOT complex‐interacting E3 ubiquitin ligase that targets the CCR4‐NOT subunit CNOT6L for ubiquitination. RNF219 directly binds to the DUF3819 domain of CNOT1 through its putative α‐helix spanning amino acids 521–542. Our findings also suggest that antiproliferative activity of RNF219 is at least partially mediated by ...

The figure presents the trilaminar organization of the human deep fascia, composed of a thick, collagen‐rich intermediate layer flanked by thinner superficial and deep layers with loose connective tissue. ABSTRACT Traditional histological methods provide limited insights into the complex 3D microstructure of fascia and its relationship to disease. This

Dopamine dependency of oscillations between subthalamic nucleus and pallidum in Parkinson's disease [PDF]
The extent of synchronization within and between the nuclei of the basal ganglia is unknown in Parkinson's disease. The question is an important one because synchronization will increase postsynaptic efficacy at subsequent projection targets.

Modelling the effects of deep brain stimulation in the pedunculopontine tegmental nucleus in Parkinson’s disease [PDF]
Based on the belief that it is a locomotor control structure, the pedunculopontine tegmental nucleus (PPTg) has been considered a potential target for deep brain stimulation (DBS) for Parkinson’s disease (PD) patients with symptoms refractory to ...

Morphological evidence for enhanced kisspeptin and neurokinin B signaling in the infundibular nucleus of the aging man. [PDF]
Peptidergic neurons synthesizing kisspeptin (KP) and neurokinin B (NKB) in the hypothalamic infundibular nucleus have been implicated in negative sex steroid feedback to GnRH neurons. In laboratory rodents, testosterone decreases KP and NKB expression in

Mouse nuclear myosin I knock-out shows interchangeability and redundancy of myosin isoforms in the cell nucleus. [PDF]
Nuclear myosin I (NM1) is a nuclear isoform of the well-known "cytoplasmic" Myosin 1c protein (Myo1c). Located on the 11(th) chromosome in mice, NM1 results from an alternative start of transcription of the Myo1c gene adding an extra 16 amino acids at ...

Linking actions to outcomes : the role of the posterior pedunculopontine tegmental nucleus in instrumental learning [PDF]
Located in the mesopontine tegmentum, the pedunculopontine tegmental nucleus (PPTg) is comprised principally of glutamatergic, cholinergic and GABAergic neurons.

Connections of Barrington's nucleus to the sympathetic nervous system in rats.
Barrington's nucleus (BN) has been considered a pontine center related exclusively to the control of pelvic parasympathetic activity. The present study demonstrates an anatomical linkage between BN and autonomic outflow to visceral targets innervated ...
