Baryon-Baryon Potentials on the Lattice [PDF]
The interaction of spatially extended heavy baryons is investigated in the framework of lattice QCD with dynamical quarks. It is shown that the expected dipole forces have a very short range and that the baryon-antibaryon interaction is more attractive ...

Glueball–baryon interactions in holographic QCD
Studying the Witten–Sakai–Sugimoto model with type IIA string theory, we find the glueball–baryon interaction is predicted in this model. The glueball is identified as the 11D gravitational waves or graviton described by the M5-brane supergravity ...

Calculating Masses of Pentaquarks Composed of Baryons and Mesons [PDF]
We consider an exotic baryon (pentaquark) as a bound state of two-body systems composed of a baryon (nucleon) and a meson. We used a baryon-meson picture to reduce a complicated five-body problem to simple two-body problems.

Baryon–anti-Baryon photoproduction [PDF]
Baryon - anti-baryon photoproduction off a proton target is being studied in detail at Jefferson Lab with the GlueX Experiment. We observe $p\bar{p}$ and, for the first time, $ \bar $ photoproduction (with $ \rightarrow ^- p$, $\bar \rightarrow ^+ \bar{p}$) from thresholds up to $E_ = 11.4$ GeV.

“That Day Does Not Belong to Our Generation”: Komatsu Sakyō’s Affective Futurities
Commentary that observes the frequency of the appearances of images of disaster pervades much of the discourse surrounding postwar Japanese popular culture, and especially Japanese science fiction.

Hardware-in-the-loop testing of control of a precooled desiccant air-cooling system
Increasing the energy efficiency of cooling in buildings is an important component of the management of global energy consumption. A super-efficient cooling system based on the evaporation concept has been developed, and initial simulation results using ...

Baryon operators and baryon spectroscopy [PDF]
The issues involved in a determination of the baryon resonance spectrum in lattice QCD are discussed. The variational method is introduced and the need to construct a sufficient basis of interpolating operators is emphasised. The construction of baryon operators using group-theory techniques is outlined.

Baryon-Baryon Interactions [PDF]
Summary: We review the Nijmegen extended-soft-core (ESC) models for the baryon-baryon (\(BB\)) interactions of the \(SU(3)\) flavor-octet of baryons \((N, \Lambda , \Sigma \), and \(\Xi )\). The interactions are basically studied from the meson-exchange point of view, in the spirit of the Yukawa-approach to the nuclear force problem [\textit{H. Yukawa},

In this study, the control of a desiccant-wheel-based evaporative cooling system with a double-layer dew-point cooler system is emphasized. There are two dew-point evaporative coolers in the system and the air taken inside is subjected to pre- and post ...
