Moment-angle complexes, monomial ideals, and Massey products
Associated to every finite simplicial complex K there is a "moment-angle" finite CW-complex, Z_K; if K is a triangulation of a sphere, Z_K is a smooth, compact manifold.

The chalcogen elements oxygen, sulfur, and selenium are essential constituents of side chain functions of natural amino acids. Conversely, no structural and biological function has been discovered so far for the heavier and more metallic tellurium ...

On Simultaneous Approximation of Modified Baskakov‐Durrmeyer Operators
We discuss properties of modified Baskakov‐Durrmeyer‐Stancu (BDS) operators with parameter γ > 0. We compute the moments of these modified operators. Also, we establish pointwise convergence, Voronovskaja type asymptotic formula, and an error estimation in terms of second order modification of continuity of the function for the operators Bn,γα,β(f,x).

Rate of Convergence of Modified Baskakov‐Durrmeyer Type Operators for Functions of Bounded Variation
We study a certain integral modification of well‐known Baskakov operators with weight function of beta basis function. We establish rate of convergence for these operators for functions having derivative of bounded variation. Also, we discuss Stancu type generalization of these operators.

(p,q)-Generalization of Szasz-Mirakyan Operators
In this paper, we introduce new modifications of Szasz-Mirakyan operators based on (p,q)-integers. We first give a recurrence relation for the moments of new operators and present explicit formula for the moments and central moments up to order 4.

Honey‐Induced Protein Stabilization as Studied by Fluorescein Isothiocyanate Fluorescence
Protein stabilizing potential of honey was studied on a model protein, bovine serum albumin (BSA), using extrinsic fluorescence of fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) as the probe. BSA was labelled with FITC using chemical coupling, and urea and thermal denaturation studies were performed on FITC‐labelled BSA (FITC‐BSA) both in the absence and presence ...

A Bernstein‐Like Trigonometric Basis: Properties, Curve Design, and Operator Construction
We introduce a novel family of trigonometric basis functions equipped with a shape parameter, analogous to Bernstein functions. These basis functions are employed to construct Bézier‐like curves, termed “trigo‐curves”, which retain the fundamental properties of classical Bézier curves while offering enhanced shape control through parameter adjustment ...

Colorful Polymer Compositions with Dyed Graphene Oxide Nanosheets
A water suspension of graphene oxide nanosheets (GONSs) obtained via exfoliation of a graphite oxide was treated with a solution of rhodamine 6G. It was found that adding the dye results in the destruction of the GONS water suspension and the precipitation of dyed graphene oxide.

Helices 2 and 3 are the initiation sites in the PrPc -> PrPsc transition
It is established that prion protein is the sole causative agent in a number of diseases in humans and animals. However, the nature of conformational changes that the normal cellular form PrPC undergoes in the conversion process to a self-replicating ...

The Motherland and the Fight with Fascism: War Cult and War Film under Brezhnev (1965–82)
Abstract This article, based on extensive archival documentation, newspapers, and periodicals, examines the impact upon the Soviet film industry of shifts in top‐level policy relating to representation of the war. It contends that Leonid Brezhnev’s May 8, 1965, speech on the eve of Victory Day propounded an inclusive vision of the war (later sections ...
