An Ultrafast Self‐Gelling Versatile Hydrogel for Rapid Infected Burn Wound Repair in Military Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐gelling PG@PAC (POD/Gel‐CDH@PA/CHX) powder is developed for infected burn care in austere settings. Upon contact with wound exudate, it instantly forms an adhesive hydrogel, providing simultaneous hemostasis, broad‐spectrum antibacterial activity, reactive oxygen species scavenging, and immunomodulation. In a murine model of S.

Stochastic Gradient Descent-like relaxation is equivalent to Metropolis dynamics in discrete optimization and inference problems

open access: yesScientific Reports
Is Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD) substantially different from Metropolis Monte Carlo dynamics? This is a fundamental question at the time of understanding the most used training algorithm in the field of Machine Learning, but it received no answer ...

Dual‐Ligand Metal‐Organic Frameworks via In Situ Amidoxime Engineering for Selective Ion Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by microbial ion‐trapping mechanisms, a mild and universal strategy is developed to construct highly porous amidoxime‐functionalized MOFs. DFT calculations and molecular force measurements reveal that the dual‐ligand amidoxime configuration significantly strengthens Ga(III) affinity.

Batch adsorption of p-nitrophenol by ZSM-11: equilibrium, kinetic, and thermodynamic studies

open access: yesDesalination and Water Treatment, 2016
AbstractIn this study, ZSM-11 zeolite was successfully prepared by direct hydrothermal synthesis using silica sol as silicon source and tetrabutylammonium hydroxide as organic structure directing agent. X-ray diffraction confirmed the prepared product was well-crystalline ZSM-11 zeolite. Scanning electron microscopy showed that a single particle of the

Unraveling Quantitative Sensing Mechanism and Predictive Molecular Metrics for High‐Performance OFET Amine Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a novel chloro boron subphthalocyanine/polymer blend OFET sensor achieving 0.005 ppb limit of detection for ammonia at room temperature and high selectivity against similar amines. An original theoretical framework is proposed to describe the sensing mechanism, relating analyte molecular volume and Lewis basicity to sensor ...

Isopropyl alcohol recovery by heteroazeotropic batch distillation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Solvent recovery is becoming a major issue in the pharmaceutical and specialty chemical industries. Solvent recovery by conventional batch distillation is limited by the frequent presence of azeotropes in the used solvent mixtures.

Rolling and Impacting Caustic Drops on Super Liquid‐Repellent Surfaces: In Situ Force and Energy Monitoring of Surface Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The use of continuous drop‐based force and energy probing methods is introduced to evaluate in situ chemical degradation of super liquid‐repellent surfaces by caustic liquids. By tracking the velocity of rolling drops and energy dissipation of impacting drops, degradation dynamics are resolved under high spatio‐temporal precision. Using this technique,
