Characteristics of Batch, Semicontinuous, and Continuous Equilibrium Parametric Pumps
Separation Science, 1971Abstract Batch, semicontinuous, and continuous versions of the parametric pump are analyzed in terms of an equilibrium theory of pump performance. The batch pump and pumps with feed at the enriched end are shown under certain conditions to have the capacity for complete removal of solute from one product fraction and at the same time arbitrarily large ...

Kinetic and Equilibrium Study of the Enantioseparation of Fenoprofen in a Batch Setup
Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2000The bed voidage, axial dispersion, and kinetic and isotherm parameters for the chromatographic enantioseparation of racemic Fenoprofen, using cellulose ester as the chiral stationary phase and 2-propanol/hexane/acetyl alcohol as the mobile phase, were evaluated by moment analyses on the basis of equilibrium theory and the linear driving force model ...

A modified batch reactor system to study equilibrium-reactive transport problems
Journal of Contaminant Hydrology, 2012It is difficult to design column experiments to study transport processes involving slow geochemical reactions that require long residence times to reach equilibrium. We propose a sequential equilibration reactor (SER) setup to study such equilibrium geochemical reactive transport problems.

Abstract A bi-level approach is presented for the optimal design of batch and steady-state recycling (SSR) chromatography. On the first level, an efficient formulation as mixed-integer problem (MIP) is applied to obtain optimal fractionation times for chromatograms simulated by the equilibrium model.

Equilibrium Model for Cadmium Adsorption by Green Algae in a Batch Reactor
Journal of Environmental Engineering, 2002This paper reports the results of a study on the equilibrium behavior of cadmium adsorption by a tropical, indigenous single-cell algal species, identified as Oocystis sp., in a static reactor. An exponential equation, in the form of Ce /C05a exp(bM/C0), was found to be statistically significant in expressing the relationship between the ratio of ...

Non-equilibrium effects on fast reactions in a heterogeneous batch reactor
Chemical Engineering Science, 2005Abstract Recent studies by the authors of the heterogeneous catalysis of fast binary reactions have taken a dynamical systems approach, assuming that fast enough reactions are confined to a manifold upon which surface equilibrium holds. This approximation makes substantial simplification possible, for instance in the case of a batch reactor, it ...

Neural Architecture Selection as a Nash Equilibrium With Batch Entanglement
IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning SystemsModeling the architecture search process on a supernet and applying a differentiable method to find the importance of architecture are among the leading tools for differentiable neural architectures search (DARTS). One fundamental problem in DARTS is how to discretize or select a single-path architecture from the pretrained one-shot architecture ...

Using Nonequilibrium Thin‐Disc and Batch Equilibrium Techniques to Evaluate Herbicide Sorption
Journal of Environmental Quality, 2003ABSTRACTNonequilibrium disc‐flow techniques may better reproduce dynamic soil–pesticide interactions than traditional batch sorption studies. Batch kinetic and equilibrium experiments and dual‐label thin‐disc flow experiments were conducted with atrazine (6‐chloro‐N‐ethyl‐N′‐isopropyl‐1,3,5‐triazine‐2,4‐diamine) and imazaquin [2‐(4,5‐dihydro‐4‐methyl‐4‐

Adsorption of xylene isomers on Na-BETA zeolite: Equilibrium in batch adsorber
Microporous and Mesoporous Materials, 2013Abstract In this article, adsorption of p-xylene, m-xylene, o-xylene, and ethylbenzene on Na-BETA type zeolite in liquid phase at 15, 25, and 35 °C has been studied and the single adsorption isotherms have been obtained and reported. The Langmuir isotherm model was used to describe the experimental adsorption isotherm data. It was found that p-xylene
