Polychip‐A High‐Throughput Droplet Microfluidics Platform for Interrogating Microbial Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Polychip, a fully integrated droplet microfluidics platform, enables high‐throughput, single‐cell resolution screening of polymicrobial interactions. By seamlessly combining six automated microfluidics operations on a single chip, the system accelerates antimicrobial discovery by 11 to 14 times compared to traditional robotic methods.

Analysis of queueing models with batch service.

open access: yes, 2011
This dissertation is the result of my research work at the SMACS research group (Department of Telecommunications and Information Processing, Ghent University) and it concerns the analysis of queueing models with batch service. A queueing model basically is a mathematical abstraction of a situation where customers arrive and queue up until they receive

Overcoming Artificial Structures in Resolution‐Enhanced Hi‐C Data by Signal Decomposition and Multi‐Scale Attention

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Deep‐learning‐based signal enhancement is an effective way to recover high‐resolution details from a low‐resolution chromatin contact map. However, due to computational challenges, existing methods commonly divide up the contact map into small patches and create artificial discontinuities at patch boundaries.

Sustainable Materials Design With Multi‐Modal Artificial Intelligence

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Critical mineral scarcity, high embodied carbon, and persistent pollution from materials processing intensify the need for sustainable materials design. This review frames the problem as multi‐objective optimization under heterogeneous, high‐dimensional evidence and highlights multi‐modal AI as an enabling pathway.

High‐Throughput Data Generation and Transfer Learning Enabled Microstructure‐Property Integrated Design of Nickel‐Based Powder Metallurgy Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An integrated transfer learning framework integrates CALPHAD simulations, diffusion‐multiple experiments, and literature data to predict long‐term microstructural stability and short‐term mechanical properties of Ni‐based powder metallurgy superalloys. Based on these model predictions, a high‐performance, low‐density alloy, USTB‐PM750, is designed from
