Picker Routing and Batching in Multi-Block Parallel-Aisle Warehouses: An Application from the Logistics Service Provider

open access: yesLogistics
Background: In today’s business world, where competition lies between supply chains, customer expectations are changing dynamically. Effective order picking in warehouses has become a top concern given expectations for rapid delivery, a larger product ...

Solution Of Order Batching Problem With Association Rules And Genetic Algorithm: A Case Study In Pharmacy Warehouse

open access: yesJournal of Transportation and Logistics, 2016
In this study, daily strategy of order picking is examined and proposed a new approach in a pharmacy warehouse. If the goods and orders are relatively small for the picker’s capacity, the order batching strategy should put to use.

Batched Multi Triangulation [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Visualization 2005 - (VIS'05), 2006
The Multi Triangulation framework (MT) is a very general approach for managing adaptive resolution in triangle meshes. The key idea is arranging mesh fragments at different resolution in a Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) which encodes the dependencies between fragments, thereby encompassing a wide class of multiresolution approaches that use hierarchies ...

EVALUATION THE EFFECT OF PRODUCTION CONDITIONS ON THE QUALITY OF CONCRETE BY USING CONTROL CHARTS

open access: yesIraqi Journal for Mechanical and Materials Engineering, 2019
The objective of this study is to relate the quality of concrete production to the capability of the production process in such a way that the process capability could indicate the level of production quality in batching plants.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Adaptive batching scheme for multicast near video-on-demand (nvod) system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Video-on-Demand is becoming most sought after multimedia applications. It is difficult to attain a true video-on-demand (TVOD) system, so near video-on-demand (NVOD) is catching the attention of people.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.
