Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Langevin Trajectories between Fixed Concentrations
We consider the trajectories of particles diffusing between two infinite baths of fixed concentrations connected by a channel, e.g. a protein channel of a biological membrane.

ABSTRACT Objective To determine the concentration of glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and plasma in Alexander disease (AxD) and whether GFAP levels are predictive of disease phenotypes. Methods CSF and plasma were collected (longitudinally when available) from AxD participants and non‐AxD controls.

The second law, Maxwell's daemon and work derivable from quantum heat engines
With a class of quantum heat engines which consists of two-energy-eigenstate systems undergoing, respectively, quantum adiabatic processes and energy exchanges with heat baths at different stages of a cycle, we are able to clarify some important aspects ...

The classical nature of nuclear spin noise near clock transitions of Bi donors in silicon [PDF]
Whether a quantum bath can be approximated as classical noise is a fundamental issue in central spin decoherence and also of practical importance in designing noise-resilient quantum control.
