Battery Chargers in Electric Vehicles

2018 6th International Conference on Control Engineering & Information Technology (CEIT), 2018
Battery chargers are the energy transmission part of electric vehicles between the grid (or electric energy source) and the vehicle. This energy transmission process has a great effect on the technology of electric vehicles. Charging a vehicle as fast as possible is necessary for an electric vehicle to compete with the internal combustion engine ...

High voltage battery charger

2007 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2007
This paper presents the simulation and hardware result of high voltage charger. It also presents the modeling of lead-acid battery to get the dynamic charging and discharging behavior of the battery for simulation purpose. Triggering pulses for rectifier are generated using inverse cosine firing scheme.

Automated battery charger/analyzer

1998 IEEE AUTOTESTCON Proceedings. IEEE Systems Readiness Technology Conference. Test Technology for the 21st Century (Cat. No.98CH36179), 2002
This paper will provide an overview of equipment being developed, by Eagle-Picher Technologies, for the US Navy's Automated Battery Charger/Analyzer Program. The objective of the program is to reduce the cost and improve the effectiveness of battery maintenance. This will require a comprehensive battery support solution.

Battery Charger Efficiency Optimization

INTELEC '82 - International Telecommunications Energy Conference, 1982
Energy can be saved in a telephone office by controlling each power plant rectifier so that its load is close to the value for which efficiency is highest. An example is given where energy savings of over $1,400 per year result when current sharing is added to a group of five 800 amp rectifiers (based on electricity that costs 5 cents per kwh ...

Switching-mode Battery Charger

2003
It was mentioned in section 4.5 that the switching-mode charger will be treated in a standing alone chapter. The reason of doing so was also given. Without wasteful verbiage, we shall treat first a boost charger, then a charger in buck mode. For both chargers, some circuit blocks are given detailed analytical expressions and their derivations ...

Arduino Controlled Battery Charger

International Scientific Journal of Engineering and Management
In this project we will learn to use an Arduino and an attached charging circuit to control the charging of NiMH rechargeable batteries. Rechargeable batteries are a great way to power your portable electronics. They can save a lot of money when properly recycled. But it's much more fun to build one for yourself.
