Optimization of Microwave Reductive Roasting Process of Bauxite Residue
In this study, microwave-assisted heating is presented as a suitable method to transform the hematite and goethite contained in bauxite residue into magnetite, wüstite, and metallic iron, with a short processing time.

Hydrogen-Based Iron Recovery from Bauxite Residue
Valorization of bauxite residue is of great importance for sustainable production of aluminium, and the research in this field is continued in this bachelor thesis. Hydrogen reduction of iron in a mixture of bauxite residue and limestone was studied based on experimental work.

A review of the potential for rare earth element resources from European red muds: examples from Seydişehir, Turkey and Parnassus-Giona, Greece [PDF]
ArticleRare earth elements (REE) are viewed as ‘critical metals’ due to a complex array of production and political issues, most notably a near monopoly in supply from China.

The EURARE Project: development of a sustainable exploitation scheme for Europe’s Rare Earth Ore Deposits [PDF]
Numerous European industries are heavily dependent on imported rare earth element (REE) raw materials. This has created a need for the European Union (EU) to ensure a sustainable supply of REE minerals, as well as develop from the ground up the currently

Iron electrowinning from bauxite residue
