Abstract This work studies the combined effect of increasing the post‐reformer temperature and introducing red mud as a support catalyst in the thermocatalytic reforming (TCR®) of digestate. The TCR® method, developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety and Energy Technology UMSICHT (abbreviated as Fraunhofer UMSICHT), is an extension

Extraction of Valuable Elements from Red Mud with a Focus on Using Liquid Media—A Review
Bauxite residue, known as red mud, is a by-product of alumina production using the Bayer process. Currently, its total global storage amounts to over 4.6 billion tons, including about 600 million tons in Russia.

Ash yield is the primary geological factor controlling the spatial variations in the total gas content of the deep‐buried coalbed methane in the Nalinhe‐Hengshan area, Ordos Basin. However, porosity dominates the differential enrichment of the free gas content of the deep‐buried coalbed methane in the Nalinhe‐Hengshan area, Ordos Basin.

Enhanced Aluminium Extraction from Gibbsitic Bauxite by Electroreduction in the Bayer Process
The Bayer process is used to extract alumina from bauxite, resulting in the formation of a highly alkaline solid residue known as bauxite residue (BR). However, such residue contains insufficient iron (

Preliminary Characterization of Three Metallurgical Bauxite Residue Samples
Bauxite Metallurgical Residue (BR) is a highly alkaline and very fine-grained by-product of the Bayer process for alumina production. Its huge global annual production has resulted in increasing accumulation of BR, causing deposition problems and serious

Natural Resources and Political Patronage in Africa: An Ethnicity Level Analysis
ABSTRACT We investigate the effect of resource discoveries on ethnicity‐level political patronage in Africa using a large geospatial dataset of 254 ethnic groups in 15 countries over the period 1960–2004. We find that the first (or single first) resource discovery in a virgin ethnic homeland increases the share of cabinet posts of that ethnicity.
