20 Jahre Suburbanisierung der Bevölkerung
Every year the major German cities are losing inhabitants through the suburbanisation of their urban fringe. The study of seven major cities reveals an annual negative migration balance of about 0.5% of the total population between 1981 and 2000.

Does hardcore interaction change absorbing type critical phenomena?
It has been generally believed that hardcore interaction is irrelevant to absorbing type critical phenomena because the particle density is so low near an absorbing phase transition.

Cryptic Declines in a Widespread Australian Frog Complex
The study surveyed 70 historical sites across an elevation gradient in south‐eastern Australia to assess the status of the Pseudophryne bibronii complex (P. bibronii and P. dendyi) and Bd infection. Occupancy and abundance declined sharply with elevation (71% at low elevations versus 28% high elevations), while Bd prevalence rose (6.7% to 29.2 ...

Machine learning has improved upon traditional methods of identifying population structure and is more efficient at handling large, complex datasets. We demonstrate the applicability of a machine learning method to identify hierarchical population structure in an emerging pathogen, Coccidioides spp., the causative agent of Valley fever.

Directed Ising type dynamic preroughening transition in one dimensional interfaces
We present a realization of directed Ising (DI) type dynamic absorbing state phase transitions in the context of one-dimensional interfaces, such as the relaxation of a step on a vicinal surface.

Hydrodynamics of Four Moments in the Life of a Floodplain Forest in Compound Channels
Abstract Natural rivers often function as compound channels, comprising main channel and floodplain. Flow dynamics in these systems, particularly during floods, are influenced by factors such as vegetation, and flood intensity. Floodplain vegetation significantly modifies flow structures, affecting hydraulic conveyance and ecological functions.
