Factors Driving Battery and Solar Purchase Decision of Residents: a Behavioural Choice Experiment Using a Hybrid Discrete Choice and Latent Variable Model

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
This article explores what drives households to adopt solar PV and battery systems in South East Queensland. Using hybrid discrete choice experiments, it reveals distinct adopter profiles and highlights cost, system size, and energy independence as key motivators.

Exploring the Genetic Basis of Ketosis: Preliminary GWAS Findings on Beta-Hydroxybutyrate Levels in Holstein Cattle

open access: yesInternational Journal of Genomics
Ketosis is a metabolic condition characterized by a shift in energy metabolism, occurring when glucose availability is depleted and fat becomes the alternative primary energy source, resulting in the accumulation of ketone bodies.

A perspective on using experiment and theory to identify design principles in dye-sensitized solar cells

open access: yesScience and Technology of Advanced Materials, 2018
Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) have been the subject of wide-ranging studies for many years because of their potential for large-scale manufacturing using roll-to-roll processing allied to their use of earth abundant raw materials. Two main challenges

BAY 87-2243, a highly potent and selective inhibitor of hypoxia-induced gene activation has antitumor activities by inhibition of mitochondrial complex I

open access: yesCancer Medicine, 2013
The activation of the transcription factor hypoxia‐inducible factor‐1 (HIF‐1) plays an essential role in tumor development, tumor progression, and resistance to chemo‐ and radiotherapy.

Stochastic Nanoscale Biophysical Cues as a Basis for the Induction of Glioblastoma‐Like Transcriptional Programs in Astrocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Stochastic nanoscale physical cues induce glioblastoma (GBM)‐associated transcriptional traits in naïve astrocytes leading to spontaneous formation of spheroids. Cells within spheroids express activated‐MMP2 and a differential gene expression pattern involving P53 and NOTCH3, providing evidence for a role for changes in brain topography, as observed in

Attenuation of Influenza a Virus into Live Vaccines Through C‐End Degrons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Naturally occurring C‐end degrons are exploited to design proteolysis‐targeting live attenuated influenza vaccines. C‐end degron tagging of viral M1 protein promotes proteasome‐dependent degradation, resulting in robust attenuation in host cells while permitting scalable production in engineered cells.

Biodegradable Carbonate Nanogels Loaded with Anti MFAP‐5 siRNA for Anti‐stromal Therapy of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Polycarbonate nanogels enable lipid‐free delivery of anti‐MFAP‐5 siRNA into cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAF) in hepatocellular carcinoma. In a cirrhotic murine model, this approach silences MFAP‐5, reduces fibroblast activation, and suppresses tumor growth by inhibiting NOTCH/Hes1‐driven angiogenesis. CAF‐targeted MFAP‐5 RNAi and conserved signaling
