Crustal structure studies in the Bay of Biscay
Earth and Planetary Science Letters, 1969Abstract A gravity contour map of the Bay of Biscay and the results of a recent seismic refraction survey in the area are discussed. It is shown that the crustal structure in the centre of the Bay is oceanic and that a large sediment-filled trough exists off Northern Spain, the latter possibly representing an ancient trench.

1974The Bay of Biscay (or Gulf of Gascony) is a large wedge-shaped re-entrant of the Atlantic Ocean, bordered by dissimilar continental areas. It is floored by an abyssal plain interrupted by numerous abyssal hills with a broad continental shelf to the east and a much narrower shelf to the south.

On the polarization of oscillatory currents in the Bay of Biscay

Here data are discussed from two representative records from 1000 m above the bottom at two sites, one above the continental slope and another above the abyssal plain.
