The Association of Physical Function With Psychosocial Patient‐Reported Outcomes in People With Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective To evaluate how modifiable psychosocial factors and fatigue relate to physical functioning in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Methods In this cross‐sectional study of two demographically distinct cohorts (Approaches to Positive, Patient‐Centered Experiences of Aging with Lupus [APPEAL] and California Lupus Epidemiology Study

MSE superiority of Bayes and empirical Bayes estimators in two generalized seemingly unrelated regressions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This paper deals with the estimation problem in a system of two seemingly unrelated regression equations where the regression parameter is distributed according to the normal prior distribution N(beta(0), sigma(2)(beta)Sigma(beta)).

Pull‐and‐Push Nanotherapeutic Hydrogels: Scavenging Inflammatory Triggers While Driving Tissue Regeneration in Burn Wounds

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A nanounit‐assembled hydrogel employing a “pull‐and‐push” strategy simultaneously scavenges pro‐inflammatory cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and delivers regenerative therapeutics in response to burn‐induced hyperthermia. By repolarizing macrophages and promoting angiogenesis, this multifunctional platform accelerates burn wound healing, offering a blueprint for

Experimental Comparison between Classical and Bayes Estimators for the Parameter of Exponential Distribution

open access: yesIbn Al-Haitham Journal for Pure and Applied Sciences, 2017
This paper is interested in comparing the performance of the traditional methods to estimate parameter of exponential distribution (Maximum Likelihood Estimator, Uniformly Minimum Variance Unbiased Estimator) and the Bayes Estimator in the case of data ...

Empirical Bayes Derivative Estimates

open access: yesMultivariate Behavioral Research, 2019
A dynamic system is a set of interacting elements characterized by changes occurring over time. The estimation of derivatives is a mainstay for exploring dynamics of constructs, particularly when the dynamics are complicated or unknown. The presence of measurement error in many social science constructs frequently results in poor estimates of ...

Indolo‐Fused MR‐TADF Materials and their Application in Organelle‐Targeted Bioimaging

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Using indolo‐fusion and sulfur bridging, four multi‐resonance thermally activated delayed fluorescent (MR‐TADF) materials are reported based on the quinolino[3,2,1‐de]acridine‐5,9‐dione (QAO) framework. Functionalization of these dyes with phosphonium groups enables cellular imaging with mitochondrial targeting in glassy organic nanoparticles ...

On the Stability of Bayes Estimators for Gaussian Processes. [PDF]

open access: yesThe Annals of Statistics, 1982
Consider a Gaussian signal process \(X=(X_ t)\) observed in the presence of an additive Gaussian noise process \(N=(N_ t)\) for t in [0,T]. The paper is concerned with the behaviour of the Bayes estimator \(\delta_ 0\) under departures from Gaussian law by the prior or noise processes. The problem of choosing a suitable contamination model is discussed.

Impact of Disorder on Microscopic Superconducting and Normal‐State Responses in a Kagome Metal

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Using depth‐resolved, field‐ and pressure‐dependent μSR$\umu{\rm SR}$ measurements, we show that disorder in Ta‐doped KV3Sb5 drives a crossover from nodal to nodeless superconductivity while strongly modifying the normal‐state magnetic response. Our results reveal that disorder affects superconductivity and magnetism in fundamentally different ways ...

The superiority of empirical Bayes estimator of parameters in linear model [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper, an empirical Bayes (EB) estimator is derived for the estimable functions of the parameters in normal linear model. The superiority of the EB estimator over ordinary least-squares (LS) estimator is investigated under mean square error ...
