Empirical Bayes, Bayes factors and deoxyribonucleic acid fingerprinting

open access: yes, 2017
The central theme in this thesis is Empirical Bayes. It starts off with application of Bayes and Empirical Bayes methods to deoxyribonucleic acid fingerprinting. Different Bayes factors are obtained and an alternative Bayes factor using the method of Savage is studied both for normal and non- normal priors.

Calcium Channel Blockers Inhibit Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms Progression via Cav1.2‐Epigenetic Circuit

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Our study reveals a novel mechanism of a positive regulatory circuit between Cav1.2 and H3K27ac for pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (pNENs) progression. Cav1.2 is identified as a crucial target for promoting disease progression and correlates with malignant behaviors, which are remarkably inhibited by the administration of calcium channel blockers (

Efficient estimate of Bayes factors from Reversible Jump output [PDF]

open access: yes
We exend Meng and Wong (1996) identity from a fixed to a varying dimentional setting. The identity is a very powerful tool to estimate ratios of normalizing constants and thus can be used to evaluate Bayes factors.

β‐Adrenergic Signaling Promotes Anti‐Tumor Immunity in TP53‐mutant Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
β‐adrenergic stimulation enhances anti‐tumor immunity in TP53‐deficient oral squamous cell carcinoma by inducing tumor‐derived secretion of CXCL10, which attracts and activates cytotoxic CD8+ T cells. The findings demonstrate that β‐adrenergic signaling alters tumor–immune interactions via CXCL10‐mediated paracrine activation, revealing a neuro‐immune ...

Hierarchical shrinkage priors for dynamic regressions with many predictors [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper builds on a simple unified representation of shrinkage Bayes estimators based on hierarchical Normal-Gamma priors. Various popular penalized least squares estimators for shrinkage and selection in regression models can be recovered using this ...
