Brain-computer interfaces are systems that use signals recorded from the brain to enable communication and control applications for individuals who have impaired function. This technology has developed to the point that it is now being used by individuals who can actually benefit from it.

Topological BCI-algebras are characterized in terms of neighborhoods. It is proved that a topological BCI-algebra is Hausdorff iff \(\{0\}\) is closed. A filter base generating a BCI-topology is described.

Toward BCI Wizard - best BCI approach for each user
2010 Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology, 2010Modern brain-computer interface (BCI) systems use different types of neural activity for control. Most BCI systems only allow the customization of very few parameters and focus only on one type of BCI approach. Many articles reported that a certain BCI did not work for some users (so called BCI illiteracy). We are introducing the BCI wizard as a system

In this paper, the notions of commutators and pseudo commutators of elements (subsets) of a BCI-algebra are introduced and some properties are given. The concept of solvable BCI-algebras are also discussed and their properties are investigated. It is proved that the class of solvable BCI-algebras is closed under sub-algebra, cartesian product and ...

Towards improvement of MI-BCI performance of subjects with BCI deficiency
2015 7th International IEEE/EMBS Conference on Neural Engineering (NER), 2015The subjects' performance in using a brain-computer interface (BCI) system controlled by motor imagery (MI) varies considerably. Poor subjects' performance, known as BCI deficiency, can be due to the subjects' inability to modulate their sensorimotor rhythms (SMRs).

In recent years the clinical application of BCI has increasingly gained attention within the BCI community. Clinically, BCIs can be used to replace lost or to improve impaired function[1]. Consequently, BCIs have been applied to end-users with severe neurological disease leading to the so-called locked-in syndrome in which people have only residual ...

Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs) are gaining increased importance in research and development. The use of these devices, however, is limited by the measurement noise and the conflicting constraints imposed by target environments. The solution to this problem could be to reproduce the application area without the interfering elements, instead of trying ...
