High‐risk bladder cancer is typically treated with Bacillus Calmette‐Guérin (BCG), but 30–40% of patients relapse. No FDA‐ or CE‐approved biomarkers currently predict or prognosticate BCG failure. We systematically reviewed the literature and identified 72 eligible studies, revealing several promising biomarkers associated with BCG treatment response ...

Malformin A1–mediated cytotoxicity in ovarian cancer cells occurs through pyroptosis and autophagy
This study investigated the effects of the natural compound Malformin A1 (MA1) on the cytoskeleton that regulates cell proliferation and migration. Disruption of the cytoskeleton can impair these processes and promote cancer cell death. MA1 disrupted cytoskeletal organization, induced DNA damage, inflammation, activated autophagy, and pyroptosis ...

Investigating the Expression Level of CCAT2 and BIM Genes in Colorectal Cancer Patients [PDF]
Colon cancer ranks as the second most common cancer among women and the third among men globally. Research has demonstrated that reduced expression of the Bcl-2-like protein 11 (BIM) gene in various cancers, including colon cancer, lowers cancer cell ...

Alphaviruses induce apoptosis in Bcl-2-overexpressing cells: evidence for a caspase-mediated, proteolytic inactivation of Bcl-2 [PDF]
Bcl-2 oncogene expression plays a role in the establishment of persistent viral infection by blocking virus-induced apoptosis. This might be achieved by preventing virus-induced activation of caspase-3, an IL-1beta-converting enzyme (ICE)-like cysteine ...

Ionomycin suppresses cancer cell growth by disrupting mitochondrial transcription
In this study, we identify a new function for the selective Ca2+ ionophore, ionomycin, as an inhibitor of mitochondrial transcription. Both total and nascent RNA analyses revealed that ionomycin treatment reduces the transcription of mitochondrial genes.

Clinical Histopathological and Immunohistochemistry of papillomavirus cutaneous lesions in animals in Al Muthanna veterinary hospital/ Iraq [PDF]
Papilloma viruses (PVs) are non-enveloped, small, double stranded DNA viruses with circular genomes that replicate intranuclearly in infected cells. Papilloma viruses have high affinity for stratified squamous epithelia of warm blooded animals including ...

Chronobiology of Cancer: How Aging Fuels Oncogenesis at the Molecular Level
This graphical abstract illustrates the key biological pathways linking aging with cancer development and progression. In the upper left, cumulative exposure to ultraviolet radiation, toxins, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) causes DNA damage and genomic instability, whereas age‐related decline in repair mechanisms, such as ATM/ATR, BER, and NER ...
