Exploring differentially expressed genes in Phaseolus vulgaris L. during BCMV infection

Physiological and Molecular Plant Pathology
Bean common mosaic virus (BCMV) is a significant pathogen that affects common bean, leading to substantial yield losses and reduced crop quality. To mitigate BCMV attacks, certain genes, including diacylglycerol kinases genes (PvDGKs), genes associated with defense and stress responses (PvGST, PvPAL, PvLOX, and PvPOD), as well as genes related to plant

Dynamic transcriptome profiling of Bean Common Mosaic Virus (BCMV) infection in Common Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2016
Bean common mosaic virus (BCMV) is widespread, with Phaseolus species as the primary host plants. Numerous BCMV strains have been identified on the basis of a panel of bean varieties that distinguish the pathogenicity types with respect to the viral strains.

Soybean Aphid Development on, and BCMV Transmission to, Otebo Dry Bean

Crop Management, 2008
The non‐native soybean aphid (SBA), Aphis glycines, is now common on soybean across the Midwest. Dry beans are not listed as a host for SBA, but SBA outbreaks in Michigan correspond with increased incidence of Bean common mosaic potyvirus (BCMV) in susceptible dry bean varieties.

Determination of Genetic Diversity and Screening of BCMV and BCMNV Resistance in Some Bean Genotypes Using Molecular Markers

Ereğli tarım Bilimleri dergisi, 2021
Fresh bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is an important legume crop in Turkey used as a major source of protein in the human diet. The total fresh bean production of Turkey is estimated at 651,094 tons. Bean production shows a decreasing factor due to various abiotic and biotic factors in Turkey. Among the viruses that infect beans, Bean common mosaic virus

Topical Application of Cocktail dsRNA Induces Plant Resistance Against Bean Common Mosaic Virus (BCMV)

Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology
Bean common mosaic virus (BCMV) is a severe plant pathogen of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), that causes huge yield losses across the globe. The virus has a wide host range and varied modes of transmission, due to which its management is challenging. Pathogen-derived resistance, which entails inserting virus-derived gene sequences into transgenic

Strains of BCMV and BCMNV characterized from lima bean plants affected by deforming mosaic disease in Peru

Archives of Virology, 2007
Viruses of the species Bean common mosaic virus (BCMV) and Bean common mosaic necrosis virus (BCMNV) were simultaneously detected by the different size of PCR amplicons in lima bean plants (Phaseolus lunatus) displaying deforming mosaic symptoms in Peru.

Distribution of BCMV strains in Kashmir valley and identification of resistant sources of Phaseolus vulgaris

Indian Journal of Genetics and Plant Breeding (The), 2016
Extensive survey of 100 commercial bean growing areas of Kashmir was conducted during kharif 2009 and 2010 indicated only 13 locations to be free from Bean Common Mosaic Virus (BCMV) disease. The disease incidence ranged from 0.50 to 85%. The maximum disease incidence was recorded in Srinagar followed by districts Anantnag and Bandipora, respectively ...

Registration of PR1572‐19 and PR1572‐26 pinto bean germplasm lines with broad resistance to rust, BGYMV, BCMV, and BCMNV

Journal of Plant Registrations, 2020
AbstractCommon bean rust, Bean golden yellow mosaic virus (BGYMV), Bean common mosaic virus (BCMV), and Bean common mosaic necrosis virus (BCMNV) are devastating diseases of dry bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) in Central America and the Caribbean. The development of dry bean cultivars with enhanced levels of genetic resistance to these and other diseases ...

Serological and molecular properties of isolates ofBean common mosaic virus-BCMV from Khorasan Razavi province

Archives Of Phytopathology And Plant Protection, 2013
During growing season, 2011–2012, selected bean plant samples with symptoms of mosaic, vein clearing, leaf rolling, were collected from different part of Khorasan Razavi province of north-eastern Iran. To identify the virus, leaf samples were tested serologically by DAS-ELISA and tissue blot, using specific BCMV polyclonal antibody.
