Experimental Progress towards Probing the Ground State of an Electron‐Hole Bilayer by Low‐Temperature Transport

open access: yesAdvances in Condensed Matter Physics, Volume 2011, Issue 1, 2011., 2011
Recently, it has been possible to design independently contacted electron‐hole bilayers (EHBLs) with carrier densities <5 × 1010 cm2 in each layer and a separation of 10–20 nm in a GaAs/AlGaAs system. In these EHBLs, the interlayer interaction can be stronger than the intralayer interactions.

Evidence for an Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov State with Segmented Vortices in the BCS-BEC-Crossover Superconductor FeSe. [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2019
We present resistivity and thermal-conductivity measurements of superconducting FeSe in intense magnetic fields up to 35 T applied parallel to the ab plane.

Competition of Superconductivity and Charge Density Waves in Cuprates: Recent Evidence and Interpretation

open access: yesAdvances in Condensed Matter Physics, Volume 2010, Issue 1, 2010., 2010
Explicit and implicit experimental evidence for charge density wave (CDW) presence in high‐Tc superconducting oxides is analyzed. The theory of CDW superconductors is presented. It is shown that the observed pseudogaps and dip‐hump structures in tunnel and photoemission spectra are manifestations of the same CDW gapping of the quasiparticle density of ...

Collective excitations of a charged Fermi superfluid in the BCS-BEC crossover

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2023
We consider collective excitations in the superfluid state of Fermi condensed charged gases. The dispersion and damping of collective excitations at nonzero temperatures are examined, and the coexistence and interaction of different branches of ...

Superfluid density of states and pseudogap phenomenon in the BCS-BEC crossover regime of a superfluid Fermi gas

open access: yes, 2010
We investigate single-particle excitations and strong-coupling effects in the BCS-BEC crossover regime of a superfluid Fermi gas. Including phase and amplitude fluctuations of the superfluid order parameter within a $T$-matrix theory, we calculate the ...

Popov approximation for composite bosons in the BCS-BEC crossover

open access: yes, 2004
Theoretical treatments of the BCS-BEC crossover need to provide as accurate as possible descriptions of the two regimes where the diluteness condition applies, either in terms of the constituent fermions (BCS limit) or of the composite bosons which form ...

Advancing Superconductivity with Interface Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 36, Issue 42, October 17, 2024.
The development of superconducting materials with high transition temperatures (TC) has sparked intense interest. Efforts have been focused on interfaces of materials, including superconductivity induced at non‐superconducting material interfaces or augmenting TC at the interface between superconducting/non‐superconducting materials.

Magnetic tuning of the relativistic BCS-BEC crossover

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2011
The effect of an applied magnetic field in the crossover from Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) to Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS) pairing regimes is investigated. We use a model of relativistic fermions and bosons inspired by those previously used in the context of cold fermionic atoms and in the magnetic-color-flavor-locking phase of color ...

Pseudogap in fermionic density of states in the BCS-BEC crossover of atomic Fermi gases

open access: yes, 2009
We study pseudogap behaviors of ultracold Fermi gases in the BCS-BEC crossover region. We calculate the density of states (DOS), as well as the single-particle spectral weight, above the superfluid transition temperature $T_{\rm c}$ including pairing ...

Analytic approach to transport in superconducting junctions with arbitrary carrier density

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2022
Particle transport across junctions between two superconductors is commonly described using a simplifying approximation (often called the Andreev approximation), which assumes that excitations are fixed at the Fermi momentum and only Andreev reflections,
