The Borna Disease Virus, an negativ-stranded, enveloped RNA- virus from the family of the Mononevagirales, causes a formerly only in connection with animals descripted infection of the CNS. It was shown that the virus is able to infect human beings and supposed that the infection leads to neuropsychiatric disorders.
