Electronics‐Free Visual Monitoring of Dry Eye Disease‐Related Tear Biomarkers Using Smart Scleral Lenses

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An electronics‐free smart scleral lens passively monitors dry eye disease‐related tear biomarkers through colorimetric sensing of chloride, pH, and ocular surface temperature. Smartphone‐assisted image analysis enables quantitative interpretation, providing a simple, non‐invasive strategy for ocular health monitoring without integrated electronics ...

ROS/pH‐Responsive Phenylboronic Acid–Chitosan Nanoparticles Improve Silymarin‐Mediated Hepatoprotection After Hepatectomy With Gut‐Liver Axis‐Associated Responses

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Bioactive phenylboronic acid–chitosan nanoparticles enable responsive silymarin delivery for post‐hepatectomy liver protection. The nanoplatform integrates antioxidant and antibacterial functions, improves hepatic recovery, and is associated with coordinated shifts in gut microbiota, metabolites, cytokines, and hepatic proteomic pathways, suggesting a ...

Peripheral Neuroblastoma in a Young Beagle Dog [PDF]

open access: yesToxicologic Pathology, 1998
A peripheral neuroblastoma was found in the abdominal cavity of a young male beagle dog. The large tumor mass involved the left kidney and both adrenal glands. Histologically, a major portion of the neoplasm consisted of lobulated sheets of small round cells with hyperchromatic nuclei mixed with polygonal cells and neuropil. Small clusters of polygonal

A Programmable Braided Silk‐Glass Fiber Ligament Promoting Rapid Motoric Recovery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A scalable three‐dimensional braiding strategy integrates silk and glass fibers into customizable artificial ligaments with programmable “J‐shaped” nonlinear mechanics. The silk‐rich architecture supports osseoligamentous integration, while glass fibers provide mechanical reinforcement and biomimetic mineralization cues, enabling strain‐adaptive load ...
