Integrated multi‐omics analysis of post‐translational modifications in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma: elucidating x‐ray and carbon ion irradiation effects

open access: yesPrecision Radiation Oncology, EarlyView.
This study underscores the critical role of PTMs in mediating cellular responses to X‐ray and Carbon ion irradiation radiotherapy in HNSCC. The integration of multi‐omics data provides insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying radiation‐induced changes, offering valuable clues for improving therapeutic outcomes and advancing precision medicine ...

New insights into convection‐permitting model simulations from a ZDR$$ {\boldsymbol{Z}}_{\mathbf{DR}} $$ diagnostic for raindrops

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
A polarimetric radar forward operator to simulate differential reflectivity (ZDR$$ {Z}_{\mathrm{DR}} $$) from rain was developed to evaluate simulated storms in the Met Office Unified Model (MetUM) for two case days of the Wessex Convection Experiment (WesCon) field campaign. Vertical columns of ZDR$$ {Z}_{\mathrm{DR}} $$, indicative of strong updrafts,

Enhancing severe convection forecasts with microwave radiance assimilation in limited‐area models

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
Microwave satellite radiances remain largely underexploited in convection‐permitting limited‐area models. We assess the assimilation of humidity‐sensitive radiances from the MHS instrument in the operational ICON‐2I model, improving the precipitation forecast of a severe convective event over the Marche region, Italy, substantially by correcting ...

Investigating precipitation growth and decay due to orography using radar rainfall observations in Great Britain

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
Precipitation growth and decay due to orography was analyzed using the radar network in Great Britain. Storm direction and speed modulate the intensity of precipitation growth or decay. Windward slopes predominantly exhibit precipitation growth, while leeward areas show precipitation decay.
