Dynamics of electron beams in the solar corona plasma with density fluctuations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The problem of beam propagation in a plasma with small scale and low intensity inhomogeneities is investigated. It is shown that the electron beam propagates in a plasma as a beam-plasma structure and is a source of Langmuir waves.

Poincaré Bessel beams: structure and propagation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Optics, 2019
Abstract Non-separable superpositions of polarization and spatial modes in Gaussian beams have shown rich patterns of spatially-variable polarization encoded in the transverse mode of the light, with the potential for many applications. In this work, we investigate encoding similar types of superpositions in Bessel beams. We find that

Numerical Exploration of Thermal Shock Resistance in MgO–C Refractories

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A mesostructure‐resolved numerical framework is developed to evaluate the thermal shock resistance of MgO–C refractories. By modeling interface debonding under rapid temperature changes and introducing a modified thermal shock parameter that accounts for mesocracks, the study shows how graphite content and aggregate size influence thermal shock ...

Hollow vortex Gaussian beam expressed in terms of cylindrical wave

open access: yesJournal of Physics Communications
The electrical field of hollow vortex Gaussian beam (HVGB) with an arbitrary combination of the beam order and topological charge is formulated by using the cylindrical wave spectrum representation (CWSR), which satisfies Maxwell’s equations rigorously ...

Effects of inhomogeneity on electrostatic ion cyclotron instability excited by a particle beam

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2019
Electrostatic ion cyclotron (EIC) waves excited by a particle beam are studied in a magnetized inhomogeneous collisionless plasma using linear Vlasov theory.

Hydrogen‐Assisted Fracture of Iron‐Based Fe–Ni–Al Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Principal relations and fracture mechanisms of single‐phase and precipitate‐strengthened Fe–Ni–Al alloys subjected to prior electrochemical hydrogen charging are identified. The mechanisms of hydrogen effect on strength and microhardness are discussed, including hydrogen‐induced increase in microhardness and the role of hydrogen in fracture behavior ...

The Fresnel Approximation and Diffraction of Focused Waves

open access: yesPhotonics
In this paper, diffraction of scalar waves by a screen with a circular aperture is explored, considering the incidence of either a collimated beam or a focused wave, a historical review of the development of the theory is presented, and the introduction ...

TINJAUAN LEBAR RETAK PADA BALOK BETON BERTULANG DENGAN VARIASI TEBAL SELIMUT BETON HORISONT [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The collapse occurred beam begins with the onset of cracking. The emergence of such cracks are very smooth and parallel to the axial beam propagating from the bottom up and quit after the ultimate.

Discrete diffraction and shape-invariant beams in optical waveguide arrays

open access: yes, 2009
General properties of linear propagation of discretized light in homogeneous and curved waveguide arrays are comprehensively investigated and compared to those of paraxial diffraction in continuous media.
