Beam Control in an Intracavity Frequency-Doubling Semiconductor Disk Laser

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
In this paper, we have demonstrated a 1.3 W green laser using a V-shaped intracavity frequency doubling 1036 nm semiconductor disk laser. The beam quality of the fundamental and second harmonic generation (SHG) laser is investigated.

BEAM QUALITY MEASUREMENTS IN DIAGNOSTIC ROENTGENOLOGY [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Roentgenology, 1971
Our work to date indicates that the 20th value layer in either aluminum or unit density material can, for one anatomic area of fixed section thickness, be used to predict exposures over a range of kilovoltages[See Figure in the PDF File]using a single type of roentgen-ray unit.

Vector quality measure for vector beams [PDF]

open access: yesSPIE Proceedings, 2016
Vector beams are spatial modes of light with spatially variant polarization states in the transverse profile. Over the years, vector beams have found their way into plenty of applications ranging from material processing and lithography to electron acceleration and particle trapping.

Beam Quality of Annular Pulsed Laser Beams Propagating Through the Nonlinear and Dispersive Atmosphere

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2021
The Kerr self-focusing and group-velocity dispersion (GVD) effects play important roles when a high-power pulsed laser beam propagates from the ground through the nonlinear and dispersive atmosphere to space orbits.

High beam quality 400W practical all-solid-state laser for laser beam texture [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A high-average-power and high-beam-quality diode-side-pumped solid-state laser was designed carefully for laser beam texture. By using of low concentration Nd:YAG crystals with thermally near-unstable resonator design and two-rod birefringence ...

Optical Field Transmission Analysis of an All-Fiber Signal Combiner With a Dumbbell Shape

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2022
In this paper, the optical field transmission characteristics of an all-fiber signal combiner with a dumbbell shape and its application in laser beam combining are analyzed theoretically. Based on the three-layer waveguide model, the mode characteristics

Do baseline characteristics predict response to treatment for low back pain? Secondary analysis of the UK BEAM dataset [ISRCTN32683578] [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Objectives. To identify characteristics of randomized controlled trial participants which predict greater benefits from physical treatments for low back pain. If successful, this would allow more appropriate selection of patients for different treatments.

High pulse energy and symmetrical far field from an optical parametric oscillator in the red spectral range [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the European Optical Society-Rapid Publications, 2011
Red pulses with >30 mJ energy and < 0.6 nm bandwidth have been demonstrated using a type 2 phase matched optical parametric oscillator pumped at 532 nm. A symmetrical signal beam with beam diameter-divergence product of 3 mm·mrad was obtained by applying

Simulation Analysis of a Wavefront Reconstruction of a Large Aperture Laser Beam

open access: yesSensors, 2023
In order to solve the problem of atmospheric influence on the far-field measurement of the quality of a laser beam, we proposed a direct wavefront measurement system based on the Hartmann detection principle, which can measure large apertures and high ...

Interaction time and beam diameter effects on the conduction mode limit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Laser welding has two distinctive modes: keyhole and conduction mode. Keyhole mode is characterized by deep penetration and high welding speeds, while conduction mode has higher quality welds with no defects or spatter.
