Miniature Nonmechanical Beam Deflector Based on Bragg Reflector Waveguide With a Number of Resolution Points Larger Than 1000

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2012
A compact and super-high-resolution beam steering device is demonstrated using a Bragg reflector waveguide. For 37-nm tuning in input wavelengths, we obtained a continuous beam steering angle of 60°.

Lessons Learned: Quality Analysis of Optical Coherence Tomography in Neuromyelitis Optica

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Optical coherence tomography (OCT)‐derived retina measurements are markers for neuroaxonal visual pathway status. High‐quality OCT scans are essential for reliable measurements, but their acquisition is particularly challenging in eyes with severe visual impairment, as often observed in neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders ...

Development of a Personalized Visualization and Analysis Tool to Improve Clinical Care in Complex Multisystem Diseases With Application to Scleroderma

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective In complex diseases, it is challenging to assess a patient's disease state, trajectory, treatment exposures, and risk of multiple outcomes simultaneously, efficiently, and at the point of care. Methods We developed an interactive patient‐level data visualization and analysis tool (VAT) that automates illustration of the trajectory of a ...

Optical Beam Steerable Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) Visible Light Communication Using Spatial-Light Modulator Based Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2023
We put forward and demonstrate a steerable optical beam visible light communication (VLC) system combining orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) schemes, and utilizing a spatial light modulator (SLM ...

Evaluation of a novel EHR sidecar application to display RA clinical outcomes during clinic visits: results of a stepped‐wedge cluster randomized pragmatic trial

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective We developed a novel EHR sidecar application to visualize key rheumatoid arthritis (RA) outcomes, including disease activity, physical function, and pain, via a patient‐facing graphical interface designed for use during outpatient visits (“RA PRO dashboard”).

Non-mechanical steering of the optical beam in spectral-domain optical coherence tomography

open access: yesScientific Reports
We demonstrate in a proof-of-concept experiment spectral-domain optical coherence tomography where steering of the optical beam that probes the sample in a transverse scan does not make use of any mechanical element.

Grating Lobe-Free Beam Steering through Optical Phase Array Using Phase-Compensated Two Index-Mismatched Silicon Wires-Based Emitters

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
The beam formation can be treated as the diffraction pattern. A 1-D light detection and ranging beam steering could be derived through a phase shifter array using Rayleigh−Sommerfeld Diffraction, which is then utilized to demonstrate grating lobe ...
