Wear Failure of an Antifriction Bearing

2019
Abstract An antifriction bearing made from a nylon/ polyethylene blend failed. The bearing came into contact with a steel shaft. Investigation (visual inspection and 417X images) supported the conclusion that movement of the shaft against the bearing caused abrasion due to fine iron oxide particles. No recommendations were made.

Failures of automobile plain bearings

Wear, 1969
If plain bearings are properly designed and applied they fretion of a completely mutilated bearing. However adjacent quently outlive other engine components. In spite of their bearings that are not so completely failed may give a visual ability to withstand abuse premature failure can occur and to clue.

ANALYSIS OF ROLLING BEARING FAILURES

Mechanics and Technologies

Diagnostics and failure of plain bearings

2018
Plain bearings have wide application in heavy mechanical engineering like mills, turbines, crushers, rolling mills and forging machines, presses and similar. Early detection of plain bearing failures is necessary in terms of systems maintenance and reliability as well as from the aspect of economy and protection of these production facilities.
