Estimation on Reliability Models of Bearing Failure Data [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, 2018
The failure data of bearing products is random and discrete and shows evident uncertainty. Is it accurate and reliable to use Weibull distribution to represent the failure model of product? The Weibull distribution, log-normal distribution, and an improved maximum entropy probability distribution were compared and analyzed to find an optimum and ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Model Development and Stability Analysis for a Turbocharger Rotor System under Multi-Field Coupled Forces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Automotive turbochargers have been widely applied in vehicles in order to increase the power output of internal combustion engines by increasing the air to fuel ratio entering the piston cylinders.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Modelling of Bearing Lubrication for Electric Vehicle Motor Bearing

open access: yesJournal of Transport System Engineering
Bearing failure in electric motors is increasingly attributed to complex electro-thermal interactions that accelerate surface damage and lubricant degradation. Electrical current discharge disrupts the lubricant’s rheological properties, diminishing film thickness and undermining protection in the elastohydrodynamic lubrication regime.

Computational model of sliding bearing

open access: yesVestnik of Don State Technical University, 2017
Introduction. Refined computational models of tribosystems taking into account the dependence of viscosity and permeability of the porous coating on pressure through partial filling of the front gap with lubricant are described. The obtained calculated models allow for a comparative analysis of the newly received and already available results which ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Modeling of selected load-bearing structures using the truss and beam elements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The article presents the methodology of adjusting the usable properties of rodlike and beam elements for modeling the complex load-bearing structures. The basic object of consideration was the single-row slewing ball bearing.
