One-step rendezvous guidance for improving observability in bearings-only navigation

Advances in Space Research, 2020
Abstract In spacecraft rendezvous, bearings-only navigation generally suffers from a lack of observability in range direction. Therefore, dedicated orbital maneuvers are essential to improve the observability and meet the navigation requirement. This paper proposes a simple one-step guidance method for improving observability.

A Spherical Coordinate Parametrization for an In-Orbit Bearings-Only Navigation Filter

2013
In-orbit rendezvous is a key enabling technology for many space missions. Implementing it employing only bearing measurements would simplify the relative navigation hardware currently required, increasing robustness and reliability by reducing complexity, launch mass and cost.

Research on Satellite Navigation Control of Six‐Crawler Machinery Based on Fuzzy PID Algorithm

Journal of Field Robotics
The six‐crawler driving mechanism plays a crucial role in the operation of large machines such as bucket‐wheel excavators, dumping machines, and mobile crushing stations, as it serves functions like bearing, movement and steering.

Near-Infrared Fluorescence Probe for Monoamine Oxidase A with a Large Stokes Shift for Intraoperative Navigation.

ACS Applied Bio Materials
Monoamine oxidase A (MAO-A) is a dimeric flavoprotein that is found in the mitochondrial membrane. Currently, there is a lack of near-infrared fluorescent probes (NIR-FPs) with good specificity and high sensitivity for detecting MAO-A, making it ...

Track initiation of bearings-only tracking based on ant navigation concept

Communications in Nonlinear Science and Numerical Simulation, 2010
Abstract A novel heuristic track initiation method is developed for the bearing-only multi-sensor–multi-target tracking system, in which each target is assumed to move with a straight line. The key idea of the proposed method is derived from the ant navigation concept in its foraging life, which differs from the traditional ant colony optimization ...

Long range acoustic navigation of cruising AUV based on bearing estimation

OCEANS'10 IEEE SYDNEY, 2010
In this paper, a basic study on acoustic navigation for long range cruising AUV is described. Typically the position of AUV can be estimated by measuring the range between the AUV and acoustic sources or bearing of the acoustic signal. In long range observation, it is difficult to estimate these parameters in three dimensional.

Navigated lower limb axis measurements: Influence of mechanical weight‐bearing simulation

Journal of Orthopaedic Research, 2007
AbstractSuccessful outcomes following high tibial osteotomy (HTO) require precise realignment of the mechanical axis of the lower extremity. The inability to accurately assess the weight‐bearing axis intraoperatively may account for inappropriate degrees of correction with the osteotomy.

The origin of distance and bearing navigational data contained in portolani for the Adriatic Sea basin

International Journal of Cartography, 2022
Distance and bearing navigational data for the Adriatic Sea basin, extracted from five portolani written between about 1200 and 1490, is examined and compared to the geometry of their renderings, plotted both on a modern map projected in selected map projections, and on a sample of selected georeferenced portolan charts.

A Reverse Bearings Only Target Motion Analysis for Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Navigation

IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, 2019
We present a non-linear navigation solution, referred to as the Reverse Bearing Only Target Motion Analysis (Reverse BO-TMA). Reverse BO-TMA is a passive method for the self-localization of an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV). Our method relies solely on bearing measurements based on the radiated noise of a passing vessel sailing along a known route.
