Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

Health and safety in hair salons during the Covid-19 situation: A cross-sectional study in a semi-urban district in Thailand

open access: yesPublic Health in Practice
Objective: Since the COVID-19 crisis in Thailand, the need for salons to have impeccable hygiene and client-hairdresser monitoring heightened. Due to scarce research on the COVID-19 preventive measures taken by hairdressing salons in semi-urban locations

Mixing and CP-violation in charm

open access: yes, 2004
The motivation most often cited in searches for D0-anti-D0 mixing and CP-violation in charm system lies with the possibility of observing a signal from new physics which dominates that from the Standard Model. We review recent theoretical predictions and

Optimizing photoactivation of PA‐mCherry for optical pooled CRISPR screens

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Photoactivatable PA‐mCherry finds widespread use to optically tag individual cells. However, confocal 405 nm UV laser‐scanning (normal scan) is much less efficient than widefield UV illumination, limiting the use of PA‐mCherry on confocal instruments. We remedy this limitation by reporting that rapid and repeated confocal scanning with a low‐intensity,

Selection of LHCb Physics Results

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2013
LHCb is a dedicated flavour physics experiment at the LHC searching for physics beyond the Standard Model through precision measurements of CP-violating observables and the study of very rare decays of beauty- and charm-flavoured hadrons. In this article

K^L_{mu3} decay: A first evidence of Right-Handed Quark Currents ?

open access: yes, 2006
The experimental results published by KTeV and the preliminary results from NA48 concerning the slope of the Kpi scalar form factor suggest a significant discrepancy with the prediction of the Callan-Treiman low energy theorem once interpreted within the

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Interrogation of the" Beauty" From the “Ugly” to Make Innovative and Modern Designs Suitable for Printed Hanging Fabrics

open access: yesJournal of Architecture, Art & Humanistic Science
Who is "beautiful" and who is "ugly"? My concept is one of the most controversial aesthetic concepts throughout history. For thousands of years, the goal of art has been to create a sense of beauty; In order to explore the nature of perception and ...

Rare decays $B\to X_sl^+l^-$ and $B\to K^{(*)}l^+l^-$ in SM and beyond

open access: yes, 2000
After a brief review of the inclusive and exclusive rare semileptonic decays of B mesons in the standard model (SM), an overview of recent theoretical developments in this field is given. New physics effects on various observables such as branching ratio,
