Parasexuality in Beauveria bassiana
Journal of Invertebrate Pathology, 1991Abstract The parasexual cycle of the Deuteromycete Beauveria bassiana is described. Diploids are presumably highly unstable and are not isolated, but haploid recombinants are directed recovered from the heterokaryon formed between auxotrophic strains.

Medical Management of Beauveria bassiana Keratitis
Cornea, 2000To describe a case of Beauveria bassiana keratitis and to discuss the management of this rare condition. An 82-year-old woman underwent surgical repair of a graft wound dehiscence. Seven months later, shortly after the removal of sutures, the patient developed a fungal keratitis. B. bassiana was identified as the infecting organism.

Serological classification of Beauveria bassiana
Journal of Invertebrate Pathology, 1988Abstract Antigenic properties of blastospores of Beauveria bassiana and Beauveria brongniartii were analyzed by the slide agglutination and reciprocal absorption tests and the existence of at least three serotypes (B 1 , B 2 , and B 3 ) in B. bassiana was demonstrated.

Toxins of the entomophagous fungus Beauveria bassiana
Journal of Invertebrate Pathology, 1968Abstract The toxic substances produced by submerged cultures of Beauveria bassiana in a medium containing glucose, starch, corn-steep liquor, CaCO3, and NaCl were examined. The high-molecular-weight compounds toxic for Galleria mellonella larvae were separated from the culture filtrate by means of precipitation by ammonium sulfate and desalting on ...

Characterization of Beauveria bassiana isolates from Kyrgyzstan
Journal of Invertebrate Pathology, 2019We report on the enzootic foci of the insect pathogenic fungus, Beauveria bassiana, found in high meadows in the middle mountain steppes of Kyrgyzstan, at elevations from 1000 m to 2200 m. The growth characteristics of various B. bassiana isolates on different media and as a function of temperature were studied.

Pathogenicity of Beauveria bassiana in Mice
Journal of Veterinary Medicine, Series B, 1992SummaryThe potential pathogenicity of Beauveria bassiana was examined by intramuscular injection of high (2 times 108) or low (2 times 105) concentrations of conidia spores, into the left or right quadriceps muscles of CD‐1 mice, respectively. The injection sites were monitored over a period of 28 days by both microbiological and histopathological ...

BIOSYNTHESIS OF OOSPOREIN IN BEAUVERIA BASSIANA (BALS.) VUILL
Canadian Journal of Biochemistry, 1966Substrates labeled with carbon-14 were used to investigate the biosynthesis of oosporein in cultures of Beauveria bassiana. Acetate-1-14C and acetate-2-14C were good precursors. Degradation of the pigment by oxidation with chromic acid gave acetic acid which was labeled in the carboxyl and methyl carbon atoms, respectively, with little randomization ...

Generating thermotolerant colonies by pairing Beauveria bassiana isolates
FEMS Microbiology Letters, 2011Low thermotolerance in entomopathogenic fungi is the main impediment to their industrialization. This research, for the first time, describes the generation of a thermotolerant colony by pairing and subculturing (cycling) two Beauveria bassiana isolates without sexual reproduction. A mixture of B.

Metabolism of parthenin by Beauveria bassiana ATCC 7159.
Die Pharmazie, 2007Two new metabolites were isolated from the biotransformation reaction of parthenin by Beauveria bassiana ATCC 7159 along with the known naturally occurring sesquiterpene lactones hymenolin and dihydrocoronopilin. The new metabolites: are 3beta,4beta,6beta-trihydroxy-10alphaH,11alpha-methyl-ambrosa-1 -en-12-oic acid-gamma-lactone and 3alpha,6beta ...
