Research on an Infrared Hazard Gas Detection System Based on a Parallel Biped Walking Robot Using TDLAS‐WMS Technique

open access: yesInternational Journal of Optics, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Trace gas real‐time detection in severe environments has been a challenge for traditional sensors. In this study, an infrared gas detection system has been developed for dangerous gas detection including CO and CH4. The detection system consists of a standalone instrument and a nonreflective gas cell which is linked with the instrument by optical fibre.

Faecal haemoglobin concentrations are associated with all-cause mortality and cause of death in colorectal cancer screening

open access: yesBMC Medicine, 2023
Background Colorectal cancer (CRC) screening reduces all-cause and CRC-related mortality. New research demonstrates that the faecal haemoglobin concentration (f-Hb) may indicate the presence of other serious diseases not related to CRC.

A dynamic anthropomorphic phantom for end‐to‐end testing in image‐ and surface‐guided adaptive radiotherapy

open access: yesMedical Physics, Volume 52, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract Background Respiratory and digestive motion can compromise the accuracy of radiotherapy (RT), affecting tumor targeting and healthy tissue sparing. Current phantoms often fail to replicate complex organ movements and lack compatibility with advanced imaging modalities like magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and 4D computed tomography (4DCT ...

Collective Decision Making and Support for COVID‐19 Measures at Campus: Two Studies Examining Community Engagement With Mitigation Policies

open access: yesJournal of Community &Applied Social Psychology, Volume 35, Issue 5, September/October 2025.
ABSTRACT Although the importance of a collective action approach for pandemic management has been acknowledged during the recent COVID‐19 pandemic, actual attempts at involving people in designing a package of mitigation measures were absent. Our research examines the potential of active participation of the student community in collective pandemic ...

GGR Handbook of Rock and Mineral Analysis Chapter 16 Nano‐Imaging for Advanced X‐Ray Fluorescence and Absorption Spectroscopy Applications

open access: yesGeostandards and Geoanalytical Research, Volume 49, Issue 3, Page 495-533, September 2025.
Key Points Synchrotron nano‐imaging is necessary to locate elemental nanophases. Trace metal quantification requires high sensitivity nano‐XRF. Trace metal speciation relies on nano‐XANES using nano‐XRF. This chapter (Nano‐Imaging for Advanced X‐ray Fluorescence and Absorption Spectroscopy Applications) is a contribution to the Geostandards and ...

A Rare Case of Parvovirus Infection Causing Pure Red Cell Aplasia in a Kidney‐Pancreas Transplant Recipient

open access: yesNephrology, Volume 30, Issue 7, July 2025.
ABSTRACT Parvovirus B19 infection can rarely manifest with pure red cell aplasia in immunocompromised hosts. This case details a 48‐year‐old male, 11 years post kidney‐pancreas transplant who was admitted with a chronic normocytic anaemia (haemoglobin 72 g/L) after being admitted four months prior with a bleeding peptic ulcer, requiring eight units of ...
