Revealing the Underlying Mechanisms in Performance Enhancement of Shellular Lattice Electrodes During Anion Exchange Membrane Water Electrolysis Process

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Micro laser powder bed fusion enables architected nickel shellular lattice gas diffusion layers for anion exchange membrane water electrolysis. Among regular open cell geometries, the Gyroid lattice promotes bubble release, convective reactant replenishment and continuous electron transport, delivering low overpotentials, enhanced charge transfer and ...

ZBTB18 Dysfunction Promotes Neuropathic Pain via CHD4‐based Epigenetic Disinhibition of CLIC1 Channels in Sensory Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, we identify a novel functional role of ZBTB18 in regulating trigeminal‐mediated neuropathic pain. Nerve injury reduces ZBTB18 in trigeminal ganglion neurons, impairing CHD4/NuRD recruitment and de‐repressing Clic1. Elevated CLIC1 enhances chloride channel activity and neuronal hyperexcitability, thereby driving pain.

The Effect of Discharge Conditions on Morphological Development and Bed Load Transport Rates in an Unconfined Alluvial Meandering Stream

open access: yes, 2018
Understanding fluvial processes in rivers and streams and their interactions with each other enable for more effective channel designs, improved erosion control measures, and more resilient systems. The use of an unconfined river basin flume (5.6 m in length x 1.9 m in width) allowed for analysis of the interactions between sediment transport rates ...

A Reconfigurable Memristive Spiking Neuron Enabling Advanced Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pek Jun Tiw and co‐workers develop a reconfigurable memristive neuron that can exhibit four spiking behaviors with freely tunable spike train parameters. The neuron supports multiplexed spike encoding of multiple pieces of information. It also supports advanced neural network strategies, such as neural heterogeneity and dynamic mode switching ...
