An Analysis of Entrainment and Deposition Rate Fluctuations in Weak Bed Load Transport
2016The kinematics of particles moving over a fixed rough bed was experimentally investigated. Motion of sediment particles was recorded from the top of a pressurized duct using a CCD camera, and the then image processing was applied in order to track each particle.

This research aims to find a suitable transportation rate formula for bed load. Laboratory experiments were conducted in a flume for monitoring and measuring the transportation of sediment particles (bed load) which move by jumping, rolling, or sliding within the flume. This study included two parts.

A general formula for estimation of the rate of transport of non-cohesive bed-load
Journal of Hydraulic Research, 1989An empirical equation has been developed for rate of bed-load transport based on shear stresses, bed friction coefficient and particle properties. It has been calibrated by using laboratory and field data covering a limited range of sediment sizes (from fine non-cohesive silt up to a median size of 1.4 mm) and has been shown to apply to streams ...

It is very important for reservoir management to estimate the sedimentation amount deposited in a reservoir. Firstly, the formula for estimating the bed load transport rate in the bed of sand waves of prototype by model experiment was derived based on the similarity of grain Froude number; Secondly, several model experiments that the bed forms is ...

AbstractThe Swiss plate geophone system is a bed load surrogate monitoring technique that is used to quantify bed load transport in steep streams. The amplitude of the signal recorded by the Swiss plate geophone contains information about the grain-size distribution of the transported bed load.

Barry et al. ont proposé une fonction puissance pour relier le taux de charriage au débit total. Le commentaire signale une incompatibilté dans les dimensions et propose une formulation alternative qui semble mieux traduire les observations.

AbstractPartial alluvial cover in bedrock channels influences downcutting rates and mountain river morphodynamics. Flume experiments have demonstrated that a wide range of stable cover fractions are possible for a given ratio of sediment supply to transport capacity. Existing cover models impose different unique relationships between cover fraction and
