Biochar in Animal Agriculture: Enhancing Health, Efficiency and Environmental Sustainability
Biochar enhances animal agriculture by improving gut health (8%–26% higher feed efficiency), reducing methane emissions (up to 22%) and ammonia volatilization (40%–77%) and sequestering carbon. Challenges include variability in quality and economic feasibility, but its integration offers a sustainable path for productivity and environmental stewardship.
