Stacking Interventions Enhances Carbon Removals and Profitability of Livestock Production Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study indicates that stacking multiple interventions aimed at maximising soil organic carbon (SOC) sequestration and enteric methane (CH4) reductions realizes greater abatement and profit do any singular intervention, especially when SOC sequestration accounts for a significant proportion of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) mitigation. Abstract While

Comparative Single‐Cell Transcriptomic Landscape Reveals the Regulatory Mechanisms of Lactation during Selective Breeding in Asian Water Buffalo

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, a comprehensive single‐cell transcriptome atlas of river and swamp buffalo, encompassing 12 tissues and 397,011 cells, is constructed. Differential expression analyses identify metabolic and secretory tissues and cell types that mediate the divergence of milk production.

Incorporating economic multipliers in a bid adjustment algorithm for public food procurement decision making

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
Abstract We present an adjusted bid price mechanism that incorporates economic multiplier effects in public food procurement decision making. Under Input–Output model assumptions, the algorithm estimates enhanced tax revenues to state governments through multiplier effects associated with in‐state supplier purchasing.

Aflatoxin Toxicity in Beef Cattle

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1968
ConclusionsUnder simulated practical conditions, graded levels of aflatoxin fortified cottonseed meal were fed to young beef cattle. The levels of aflatoxin B1 fed in the ration to groups of 10 steers for 133-196 days were 0, 100, 300, 700, and 1000 parts per billion (ppb). Significant growth inhibition, decreased feed efficiencies, and increased liver
