A miscibility gap in LiF-BeF₂ and LiF-BeF₂-ThF₄

open access: yes, 2005
LiF BeF₂ and LiF BeF₂ ThF₄ are key systems for Molten Salt Reactor fuel. The liquid phase of these systems has been assessed using Redlich Kister polynomials. The result shows a miscibility gap on the BeF₂-rich side. This has never been proven experimentally. Nevertheless, evidence for a two liquids region is given by the fact that such a region exists

Ultracold fluorine production via Doppler cooled BeF

open access: yesPhysical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2012
Large parts of the periodic table cannot be cooled by current laser-based methods. We investigate whether zero energy fragmentation of laser cooled fluorides is a potential source of ultracold fluorine atoms. We report new ab initio calculations on the lowest electronic states of the BeF diatomic molecule including spin-orbit coupling, the calculated ...

Risk of Hypertension and Mortality Among People With Narcolepsy or Idiopathic Hypersomnia: A Retrospective Cohort Analysis of the Danish National Patient Registry

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, EarlyView.
This retrospective cohort study using data from the Danish National Patient Registry shows that individuals with narcolepsy or idiopathic hypersomnia have greater prevalence and risk of incident hypertension compared with matched controls, highlighting the elevated cardiovascular risk associated with these conditions.

Checklist of Orchidaceae From Brazilian Amazon Restingas

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Botany, Volume 64, Issue 3, September 2026.
In Brazil, restingas (coastal sandbank vegetation) are distributed along the coast in the Atlantic Forest, Caatinga, Cerrado, and Amazon phytogeographic domains. Orchidaceae is one of the botanical families with the greatest species richness in restingas in the Atlantic Forest but has been poorly documented in Amazonian restingas, resulting in limited ...

Optimal Placement of Grid Battery Energy Storage Systems for Congestion Mitigation and Enhanced Power‐Flow Control Considering Uncertainties in Photovoltaic Deployment

open access: yesIEEJ Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Volume 21, Issue 9, Page 1316-1327, September 2026.
Amidst the global drive toward carbon neutrality, the integration of large‐scale photovoltaic (PV) systems introduces significant challenges related to grid congestion. Battery energy storage systems (BESSs) are increasingly recognized as an effective solution for addressing these challenges and improving grid operations, especially under the ...

Efficacy of a Decision‐Making Aid About Homeopathy in Patients With Cancer: A Single‐Arm, Pre–Post Observational Study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Despite lacking evidence, homeopathy continues to enjoy high levels of usage and general acceptance. Particularly concerning the treatment of cancer, this can pose risks, especially when it leads to delay or replacement of evidence‐based treatments.

MYB59 is Linked to Natural Variation of Water‐Use Associated With Warmer Temperatures in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesPlant-Environment Interactions, Volume 7, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Water‐use contributes significantly to plant growth and productivity, yet the extent to which variation in water‐use is a function of adaptive differentiation is unknown. Here, we studied natural variation of water use in Arabidopsis thaliana to understand how climatic history impacts water‐use strategies.
