SMaRT Stacking: A Methodology to Produce Optimally Layered EMI Shields with Maximal Green Index Using Fused Deposition Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electromagnetic interference (EMI) shields consisting of polylactic acid (PLA) in layers with different concentrations of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) are produced using additive manufacturing. The permittivity function of layers with different filler concentrations is learned using data of homogeneous and randomly ordered shields.

Functionalized Reduced Graphene Oxide‐Based Nanocomposite Hydrogels for Enhanced Osteogenesis in Bone Tissue Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Charge‐opposed reduced graphene oxide fillers are co‐integrated into biopolymeric nanocomposite scaffolds, synergistically enhance osteogenesis. Multiscale characterization reveals how surface chemistry and porosity dictate ectopic mineral architecture.

Recent Photocatalytic Applications for Air Purification in Belgium

open access: yes, 2014
Photocatalytic concrete constitutes a promising technique to reduce a number of air contaminants such as NOx and VOC’s, especially at sites with a high level of pollution: highly trafficked canyon streets, road tunnels, the urban environment, etc ...

Costs, advantages and drawbacks of the various means of payment [PDF]

open access: yes
The total macroeconomic costs of the payment instruments used in the points of sale can be estimated to be 2.034 million euros, or 0.74 p.c. of Belgian GDP in 2003. The payment costs arising from cash were 0.58 p.c. of GDP, compared to 0.11 p.c.

In search of foreign influences, other than French, in nineteenth-century Belgian court decisions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In many senses, nineteenth-century Belgium can be considered to be a 'legal province' of Belgium. In the tradition of the exegetical school, legislation is the one and only formal source of law for judicial decisions.

A Modular Perfusion Bioreactor Platform for Simulating Bone Regeneration and Fracture Healing: Integrating Mechanical Loading and Dual Perfusion for Advanced In Vitro Models

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A modular bioreactor platform was developed in order to replicate bone homeostasis and pathology, thereby integrating mechanical loading, dynamic perfusion, and a 3D‐printed microfluidic chamber. With precise control of environmental parameters and dual perfusion for composite tissue models, the system enhances physiological relevance for studying bone
