Two-Dimensional Belief Change [PDF]
The idea of two-dimensional belief change operators is that a belief state is transformed by an input sentence $A$ in such a way that $A$ gets accepted with at least the strength or certainty of a sentence $B$ (the reference sentence). The input of such a transformation may alternatively be conceived as `$B leq A$' [`$B$ less-than-or-equal-to $A$'].

AGM-Like Paraconsistent Belief Change [PDF]
Two systems of belief change based on paraconsistent logics are introduced in this article by means of AGM-like postulates. The first one, AGMp, is defined over any paraconsistent logic which extends classical logic such that the law of excluded middle ...

Knowledge of factors that trigger human response to climate change is crucial for effective climate change policy communication. Climate change has been claimed to have low salience as a risk issue because it cannot be directly experienced.

The Contributing Role of Prevalent Belief Systems to Intergroup Attitudes and Behaviors [PDF]
Abundant research shows that prevalent belief systems across cultures contribute to people’s levels of stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination. Such popular belief systems are often communicated by everyday sayings (e.g., the belief that hard work

Black holes, cosmological singularities and change of signature [PDF]
There exists a widespread belief that signature type change could be used to avoid spacetime singularities. We show that signature change cannot be utilised to this end unless the Einstein equation is abandoned at the suface of signature type change.

Speculations on a privileged state of cognitive dissonance [PDF]
This paper examines two commonly held and conflicting cognitions in the modern world, each based on a belief vital to the individual's sense of self, both maintained in what is here considered as a chronic state of dissonance.

Decrement Operators in Belief Change
While research on iterated revision is predominant in the field of iterated belief change, the class of iterated contraction operators received more attention in recent years.

The neural correlates of belief-bias inhibition: The impact of logic training [PDF]
Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) was used to investigate the brain activity associated with response change in a belief bias paradigm before and after logic training. Participants completed two sets of belief biased reasoning tasks.

A Rational and Efficient Algorithm for View Revision in Databases
The dynamics of belief and knowledge is one of the major components of any autonomous system that should be able to incorporate new pieces of information.

Extending the Harper Identity to Iterated Belief Change [PDF]
The field of iterated belief change has focused mainly on revision, with the other main operator of AGM belief change theory, i.e. contraction, receiving relatively little attention.
