Bubbles in Planetary Nebulae and Clusters of Galaxies: Jet Bending
We study the bending of jets in binary stellar systems. A compact companion accretes mass from the slow wind of the mass-losing primary star, forms an accretion disk, and blows two opposite jets. These fast jets are bent by the slow wind.

Bending force of LLDPE monofilaments at high temperatures measured in DMA (Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer) [PDF]
The bending force of monofilaments used as pile layer in artificial turf football fields is a very important property due to the strong relation with the performance of the entire system being the force that mostly influences the deformation of ...

A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...

Low-DMGD, Large-Effective-Area and Low-Bending-Loss 12-LP-Mode Fiber for Mode-Division-Multiplexing
We report the design of 12-LP-mode (21-spatial-mode) fiber with a low differential mode group delay (DMGD), a large effective area, and a low bending loss that is adapted to a mode-division-multiplexing system over the C+L band.

Significant contributions of Albrecht's $A$ term to non-resonant Raman scattering processes
The Raman intensity can be well described by the famous Albrecht equation that consists of A and B terms. It is well known that the contribution from Albrecht's A term can be neglected without loss of accuracy for far off-resonant Raman scattering ...

Novel ferrocene derivatives (e.g., FcPhc2) are used as an ultrathin layer hole‐blocking layer, reducing hole injection from the Ag contact. This results in an ultralow noise spectral density of 1.2 × 10−14 A Hz−1/2, and a high specific detectivity of 8.1 × 1012 Jones at −0.5 V.

Bending losses of multimode optical fibres
The bending loss of rays within circular and slab multimode optical waveguides is determined using only Snell's laws, the generalised Fresnel transmission coefficient and the Goos-Haenchen shift. The generalised transmission coefficient accounts for radiation losses, due to curvature, not included in Fresnel's classical laws.
