Piezoceramics-based Devices for Active Balancing of Flexible Shafts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This paper focuses on vibration control of flexible shafts by means of rotorfixed piezoelectric materials. The target is to realize compact solutions for the suppression of problematic resonant vibration at so-called flexural critical speeds.

Gravitational Effect on the Bending Vibration of Fabrics.

open access: yesSen'i Gakkaishi, 1993
The gravitational effect on the forced bending vibration of a fabric strip was studied experimentally and analytically. The transfer function of the vibration and the eigen frequency of the fabric were measured by the vibrating reed method with a sweep oscillation device. The equation of motion of a vibrating reed in the gravitational field was derived,

Dual‐Programmable Architected Magnetic Soft Materials: Tuning Mechano–Electric Responses by Inverse Design

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Materials that can deform, sense, and autonomously generate power in response to wireless magnetic fields, through both magnetic‐actuated shape transformation and charge generation, are an emerging focus in advanced functional materials research.

Long-wavelength deformations and vibrational modes in empty and liquid-filled microtubules and nanotubes: A theoretical study

open access: yes, 2017
We propose a continuum model to predict long-wavelength vibrational modes of empty and liquid-filled tubules that are very hard to reproduce using the conventional force-constant matrix approach based on atomistic ab initio calculation.

Furan‐Substituted Phosphine‐Oxide as an Efficient Interfacial Modifier for Wide‐Bandgap Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report phosphine‐oxide interlayers for wide‐bandgap perovskite solar cells, in which tuned P = O Lewis basicity enables selective passivation of buried NiOx/perovskite interfaces and introduces interfacial dipoles that strengthen the built‐in field.

Computation of the modes and polar moment of inertial of the blades of an HAWT [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
The coupled differential equations of motion of the blades of a horizontal axis wind turbine are solved numerically, permitting the optimization of the design at relatively low cost.

Rate‐Adaptive Site Transformation Catalyst for Parallel Water Dissociation and Hydrogen Adsorption in Alkaline Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a rate‐adaptive site transformation strategy in Ag‑ethylenediamine intercalated Co9S8, which not only enables parallel water dissociation and H* adsorption, but also allows the catalyst to provide more active sites under high demand, removing a major bottleneck. The catalyst achieves a record current density of 4.2 A cm−2@2.0 V, with

Atomic Layer Deposition in Transistors and Monolithic 3D Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Transistors are fundamental building blocks of modern electronics. This review summarizes recent progress in atomic layer deposition (ALD) for the synthesis of two‐dimensional (2D) metal oxides and transition‐metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), with particular emphasis on their enabling role in monolithic three‐dimensional (M3D) integration for next ...

Built‐In Interfacial Electric Field in Hydroxyl‐Terminated MXene/COF Heterostructures for Enhanced Solid‐State Supercapacitors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Hydroxyl‐terminated MXene is integrated with a redox‐active covalent organic framework through electrostatic self‐assembly followed by hydrothermal treatment to construct MXene/COF heterostructures with a built‐in interfacial electric field. Termination‐controlled interfacial electronic modulation induces charge redistribution and favorable band ...
