3D Printing Innovations in Polymeric Porous and Patterned Architecture
Polymeric foams occupy a unique structural space between dense solids and open networks, where engineered void fraction governs mechanical compliance, thermal resistance, and mass transport. Additive manufacturing now enables precise spatial control over cellular architecture, unlocking designer foam structures across applications spanning crash ...

On the cost and benefit of cost and benefit.
Psychological Bulletin, 1984Cost-benefit analysis of reaction times has become a popular chronometric tool in the study of cognitive processes. We review the technique, assumptions underlying its application, and pitfalls that are encountered in actually implementing it in various experimental contexts, this review suggests that the unthoughtful application of the technique may ...

Applied Ergonomics, 1970
Ergonomics is primarily concerned with improving the performance of man or of man-machine systems. Although many applications have produced evident improvements, the terms of reference and the results are not often expressed in measures that are easily converted into financial savings.

The costs and benefits of benefit-cost analysis
Environment and Development Economics, 1997Among the tools of the economic trade, cost-benefit analysis is the most widely used in policy circles. Asking whether there is a role for cost-benefit analysis is like asking whether there is a role for the weatherman. Of course there is.

On the cost and benefit of cooperation
2015 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT), 2015In cooperative communication, network nodes that would otherwise act independently instead coordinate their efforts with the aim of improving communication performance. To better understand cooperation, we consider communication over a multiple access channel using a “cooperation facilitator”, a node that receives rate-limited message descriptions from
